Biografía
I grew up in Manteca and I believe that every student deserves an education that inspires them to realize their limitless potential and that is why I am running for school board. Growing up in Manteca I volunteered at the public library and Doctor's Hospital of Manteca. Now as a parent and community member I want to use my experience in education to serve our students, families and schools.
Our teachers, students, and families deserve a representative that amplifies their voices and builds an environment where students thrive and become college, career, and life ready. After graduating from Manteca Unified, I attended UC Berkeley, where I earned my Master’s degree in Public Policy and I have dedicated my career to public education. Throughout my career I’ve taken on leadership roles within all aspects of education as a teacher, a principal, a director at the California Department of Education, and San Joaquin County Office of Education.

The role of an elected official is to make decisions based on the needs of their community. School board members must be engagd in the world of education, informed on the issues facing our schools, and dedicated to recieving feedback. They need to build relationships and work together with communities. It's important that school board members connect and communicate with the area they represent and not make decisions based on personal agendas. We must keep our students and school communities' needs at the heart of all decisions.

Mis 3 prioridades principales
Improve communication not only within the Manteca Unified school district itself, but also between the district and communities at large.
Make sure that students receive instruction geared to their individualized needs no matter the form (distance learning, hybrid model or full-time instruction) that safety demands.
I would like to encourage greater public participation and input in school district matters.

I believe that the office of school board trustee should be nonpartisan. All board members, regardless of their political party affiliation, should be focused on the best interest of students and ways to ensure a positive work environment for teachers, administrators, and support staff. Too often, our political differences can divide us if we define ourselves in that manner. That divide makes us less effective and can interfere with our responsibility to provide students with the most rigorous individualized learning possible. For these reasons, I strive to keep any politics out of my board discussions and decisions.
