I was born in La Mirada and raised in Whittier and Norwalk.  In 2000 I married my wife and we raised our three children to adulthood while living in La Habra.  Three years ago we moved back to Whittier.  We recognized some of the issues with public education early in our marriage and we decided to homeshcool our children.  My wife took on the bulk of that responsibility.  In the end we successfully graduated all three of our children from high school, the final one graduating this year.  My oldest is 21 and he intends to run our corporation and plumbing companies, and I am training him to that end.  My 18 year old daughter is attending a local community college at this time.  And my 17 year old has 6 years of experience competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which he intends to further his training after graduation.

After several years as a plumber, I started my own plumbing company (Mitch Clemmons Plumbing) in 2002.  As a Bible believing Christian, it was my goal was to serve my customers well and offer fair pricing.  By doing so my hope was to get rid of all of the large corporate plumbing companies that were taking advantage of my community.  Over the years I have trained many plumbers.  It is very technical trade, with more types of materials and appliances than any other trade.  A strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems is necessary.  As I identify plumbers that have a high technical aptitude and they are honest and fair, I teach them not only how to be plumbers, but also how to start, manage, and market their own plumbing companies.  Rather than growing one big company that I own, I saw it as more effective to serve my employees by helping them do the same thing I did.

I'm also a self taught computer programmer, database designer, and linux systems administrator including computers, smart phones, servers, VPS's, and VPN's.  These also requrie a high level of ability to identify the problem(s) and design effective and efficient solutions.

I've been active in ministry for nearly 30 years.  This has given me the opportunity to serve my community in other ways besides plumbing.  I've participated in many opportunities over the years: serving food to the needy; providing shoes, blankets, and other items to the needy; helping non-profits such as Giving Children Hope in Fullerton, La Habra Life Center; and participate and assist in many community outreach events.

I intend to take my skills in troubleshooting and finding solutions, my experience in business management, and my desire to serve others to the state capitol to help restore the Golden State.

Filosofía política

I've been a registered Republican for as long as I can remember.  But, I've never really been overly interested in politics until these last few years.  I am an avid student of history and a prolific reader.  When the chain of events started occuring after the 2016 election, many of the motives behind what was happening were obvious to me.  At that time I started getting involved more with politics so that I could be aware of what was happening.  Then in 2020 I realized that many of our leaders were not leading.  Business leaders, elected officials, bureaucrats, and even church leaders we not standing up in a time when we needed strong leadership.  So at that time I got involved.

My political philosophy is derived from my faith, my knowlede of the scriptures, our Constitution, and my experiences as a worker and as a business owner.  I believe that he tax & spend philosophy of the democrat party creates many more problems than it intends to fix.  It creates more burdens on businesses and workers alike.  Though they say they want to tax the rich, the working class still bears the brunt of their policies.  They tax the working class to then provide services back to the people.  However, much of our tax money is used up on the bureaucracy and only a portion makes it back to the people.  In contrast, I believe governments role should NOT be to over-tax and over-regulate, but to provide the framework and freedom for the people to be successful, start businesses, and contribute back to their communities.  Instead of incentivizing people to stay home and collect a government check, we should be teaching them the skills to actively contribute to society and excel while doing so.

Government should be as small as possible, while still effectively providing security for our nation, safety for our neighborhoods, a minimal but effective business regulatory environment, and a fair legal framework.

It was never the original intent for our government to have career politicians.  It was supposed to be servant leaders, who take time away from their personal career for a season, to serve in government.  And when they were done, to return to their private life again.  "Political science" should have never become a class in our universities.  Becoming a politician should never have become a career choice.  Instead, we need to get back to electing servant leaders from among the people, to properly represent the people.

That's what I intend to do, represent the people... and fix what is broken to the best of my ability.  I have no desire to become a politician or deal with the messy swamp we currently have in government.  But it is my duty and calling at this time in my life to get up and serve the people.
