Laura Friedman is running for re-election to the California State Assembly, District 43.
For her first session as an Assemblymember, Laura has proven to be a true progressive voice for our state, authoring and co-authoring some of the legislature's most progressive bills, while still showing that she can reach across the aisle and work with anyone who has the best interest of the state in mind. She has worked extensively to protect our environment, defend our state's most vulnerable populations, and to ensure a more equitible future of all Californians. In early 2017 she was made the Chair of the Joint Rules Subcommittee on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response as well as the Assistant Speaker Pro-Tem of the Assembly.
Laura has an extraordinary record of leadership as a local elected leader, a community volunteer and in the private sector.

Extensive experience as a producer and head of development in the entertainment industry, where she worked on numerous successful films and TV projects. Taught producing at UCLA and Chapman College.
Since 2001 she has owned and run a small business specializing in vintage jewelry and fine and decorative arts.

Laura lives in Glendale with her husband Guillaume Lemoine, a landscape designer, and their daughter Rachel.
