I have served on the Open Space Authority Board of Directors since 2012.

As an environmental and social leader, I develop ventures that prevent wildfires, improve trail safety, increase water conservation, and help schools achieve zero waste, ultimately, creating a more sustainable and economically prosperous California for all. My experience and ability includes developing cross sector solutions that enable businesses, organizations and government agencies to develop economically viable strategies and capital resources that achieve community sustainability.

I currently serve as the CEO of the San Jose Conservation Corps, a nonprofit social enterprise that provides high school education and training environmental training to under-resourced young adults in Silicon Valley. My education includes a MBA in Sustainable Management and a BA in geology/geography.

I have lived in the district for 25 years. I understand the complexity of our diverse community and local environment but also the potential for positive growth.

The position I am a candidate for is non-partisan. I am a registered Democrat; however, I do not align with any voter block. It is important to listen, learn and act in the best interests of district residents, independently of partisan influence and ‘group think.’ I am socially progressive and fiscally moderate.  I support many pro-business and worker rights initiatives.  

A key focus of my work is to ensure that our most vulnerable and under-resourced members of our community have access to education, support services and resources to fulfill their potential and bring their gifts to the world.
