My Top 3 Priorities
Affordable Housing because the rents are too high and future generations and seniors are being priced out.
Tackling our deficits. We have $34 Million dollar deficits that needs to be a top concern for all residents. I want to create new revenue sources while also cutting out wasteful spending.
Rebuilding our Downtown. During the late 1960's it was demolished, yet today there is a passion to see it return and I want to champion that revival. This can also help with our deficits by creating economic opportunities in heart of our city.

Questions & Answers
Questions from LWV San Jose/Santa Clara (2)
How will you be responsive to the residents in your district? To the residents in the City at large.
Answer from Anthony J. Becker:
I have experience in the community resolving residents' quality of life issues. I will be dedicated to my district and my city at large. I put my community's needs first and politics last. Your priorities are my priorities. My experience on the planning commission has prepared me for my role as a councilmember.
As your councilmember I will have a communication & open door policy. Open ears, open eyes and an open mind. If elected I will hold monthly neighborhood town halls and coffee chats (zoom chats) to keep my district in the loop at what is happening in the city.
LWV COVID
How has the Covid 19 pandemic changed your view of the role of City Government in responding the needs of residents?

Anthony has lived the Santa Clara success story. Anthony is a son of the Mission City, born into a working class family and member of a generation that has never served on council... Millennials.
The time has come for change and new voice on council. Anthony will represent the people with a clear & strong vision for the future. He wants to represent your district by being your direct democracy contact. If elected, he will not only represent Santa Clara's 6th district but represent all Santa Clarans in making decisions for its future. Anthony will bring public, private & non-profit sector experience to his role as Councilmember by working to protect all Santa Clarans quality of life.
Anthony will hold regular town halls to keep those in his district & community up to date on all the happenings in the city and from the dais.
I grew up hearing about the greatness of Santa Clara's old downtown. All the stories are priceless. Our city has been trying to recreate the downtown since short-sighted politicians demolished it 60 years ago. Urban Renewal rotted our heart and left us with nothing but nostalgia, pictures, and the dated Franklin Mall. Efforts to recreate downtown in the past failed. We do not want to repeat the same mistakes. Even with looming deficits, we have the opportunity especially with expiring leases on City-owned land in the downtown area. This is a rare opportunity for history to be restored. With the success of the Parade of Champions in 2019 and the Reclaiming our Downtown (ROD) organization leading the way, we can make this a reality in the foreseeable future. I know how important it is for our future and the local economy. We need to act now and have it shovel ready at end of my first term.
Most are confused where district boundaries are and we made it simple to figure out. Either check out the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters to find your voting district here https://eservices.sccgov.org/rov?tab=dt District 6 is made up of the following streets and boundaries. It is the southernmost district of Santa Clara that borders the Cities of San Jose and Cupertino.
