I am a generational lifetime resident of our great city. As a Councilwoman, my job will be to serve the people who put me in my seat. Public Safety and Quality of Life are some of the staples in my campaign. Public Safety is key within any community and no corners can be cut in making sure our residents are safe and the agencies protecting them have the resources needed to do their job. With our steady growth, we need to find solutions on things like public safety, education and schools, and the development of family activities within our city. These are things that will make the quality of life better for current Lathropians and those to come. Transparency is key, and I will use my seat to make sure that our citizens are always fully aware of what’s going on, while asking the hard questions. Building a bridge between communities is what I plan to continue doing whether on Council or in my current role as Chair of the Park and Recreation Commission. If elected I will be not taking directives but instead be using the facts with the voices of the “People” when making decisions. I will honored to earn your vote this November 3rd. Vote Minnie

Biography
I am currently serving in my second year as your City Councilmember. During my tenure, I have consistently focused on responsible growth, supporting our first responders, and, most importantly, being a voice for our children and families. I advocated for and succeeded in having a lighted crosswalk installled at Lathrop High School. I also referred and passed an ordinance prohibiting distracted walking in our city's crosswalks. Other projects I have worked on include: introducing a referal to allow our eateries and small businesses to place tents and tables outside on the sidewalk and in parking stalls during Covid 19 closures. Also voting for city funded emergency grants for both our small businesses and our families in the wake of the Corona pandemic. I also voted for postponing water payments and for allowing payment plans for our families during the Corona pandemic. As your councilmember, I will continue in my mission to represent Lathrop's families and businesses.

Questions & Answers
Questions from League of Women Voters of California and Elect Justice CA (2)
We do not have our own jail or police force but we do contract with the San Joaquin Sheriff's office and work within San Joaquin County as a whole. Within the scope of the BLM movement, every office, including my own, should be aware of criminal justice issues facing those who have been arrested and or are currently incarcerated. We must do better as a society. The heart of democracy is founded in criminal justice.
We do not have our own jail or police force but we do contract with the San Joaquin Sheriff's office and work within San Joaquin County as a whole. I, peronally, am in favor of re-entry programs because having such programs helps to ease the re-entry process and can keep former inmates from becoming at risk homeless. The City of Lathrop does not have a re-entry program currently but San Joaquin County has a honor farm program for low risk inmates and also the City of Lathrop has the Discovery Challenge Academy residential program for at risk high school students ages 16-18.
