Political Beliefs

Position Papers

1. Parity in pay and benifits for all faculty. 2. Declining enrollement. 3. Staff morale 4. College affortability

My platform will cover the parity in pay for all faculty members, the decling student enrollment, staff morale and college affortability.

Currently there isn't parity between Full- Time and Part-Time faculty. Part- Time faculty make up about 70% of the faculty but their pay is only about 75% with Full- Time satff. I will work to ensure parity with Full-Time faculty in office hours; parity with Full-Time in professional development; and Binding Arbitration.

I will work to ensure that community college remain affortable for all.  There is a current proprosal to build student housing on campus.  Allthough the cost of building, maintaining, and managing the housing is being past on to the developer, the cost to local students will be unattainable.  The current cost to live in dorms of most public college campuses in California range from $6000.00- $9,000.00 per year.  The community college system was established to ensure that college was affortable for general public(middle-class).

I will establish a partnership between the Community College District, and the local High School District to establish an outreach that will address the declining enrollement. I will work to enclude all faculty bot Full-Time and Part-Time in the decesion-making process that impact their working envorinment.

I will work to make college affortable for all by ensuring that college is Tution-Free.
