I am currently engaged with local housing advocacy groups to identify and promote new and innovative ways to assure that everyone has access to safe and stable housing. This can include everything from simply building more homes, to finding effective ways to use existing structures more effectively.
We MUST harness the power of the sun anywhere and everywhere we can here in California. Solar needs to be available to all, and programs that currently help lower income residents MUST be better promoted and expanded to cover more people. There is zero reason why we should continue to use non-renewable resources, when California has such a huge opportunity.
Furthermore, I wish to bring us closer to a full electric vehicle future. We MUST build the infrastructure to make this need a reality, including the standardization of equipment, the expansion of charging stations, and the ability to bring the costs of these vehicles down, so that everyone will soon have the opportunity to trade into the future. A cash for clunkers type program would be extremely valuable in helping to take gas-guzzlers off the road, bringing down overall costs, and greatly improving our environment over the long run.
What programs or strategies would you suggest to meet the educational needs of young, low-income Californians?
What programs, proposals, projects, or legislation would you support to meet the water needs of all Californians?
