Henry has focused his public service on advocating for those who often find themselves on the outside looking in. He got his start in local politics by organizing neighbors to get the city to put a crosswalk at a busy intersection that had seen too many close calls.
As a member of the Whittier City Council, Henry fought to improve public transportation for working families, invest in our parks and public facilities, and improve working conditions for essential workers. Before he was elected to the City Council, he served as a public safety advisor in the Los Angeles Mayor's Office, spearheading the Domestic Abuse Response Team program.
Henry served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps. He deployed to Afghanistan, providing counsel to senior commanding officers. In addition, he served as a military prosecutor, doing his part within the judicial system to achieve justice for victims of sexual misconduct. He left active duty as a Captain and currently holds the rank of Major in the Individual Ready Reserve.
Henry holds a B.A. from Loyola Marymount University, a J.D. from Boston College Law School, and an M.B.A. from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
