We need to protect our water resources and always do the best to promote conserving, even in non-drought years. That is the first thing, the second is we need host more community awareness on water and the precious resoure we have. I was happy toattend the WELL conference a few weeks back and at the conference-Water Education for Latino Leaders, I learned so many things.

Our housing prices are a huge problem for middle, low and extremely low families.
All people deserve a home so we must work collectively and create more housing in a variety of markets:
market housing,
slightly below market housing,
lower market housing;
and extremely low market housing.
This can be done in a number of ways, reducing permit fees, incresing densities and working with Cities and Counies to pass Affordbale Housing bonds.
We also need to look at rezoing areas that used to thrive as one zone, but now do not such as industrial and commercials zones that are unused and could be rezoned to residential.
It is time for the Legislature to be creative and solve this problem and I pledge to do that!
Low income California students should be provided essential needs to be able to be productive students, free laptops, free internet, free breakfast, free lunches and free transportation so that these students can focus on being good students on not on how they are going to eat, get to school, do homework and rerearch for classes.
I believe in reaching the goal of carbon nuetrality by 2045. I will do this by working with the State ad its 58 Counties, Cities and Special Distrircts to help reduce their fleets to more electric / hydrogen vehicles by offering programs and incentives for doing so. One project I am working on that will reduce Green House Gas Emissions is the Valley Link Project. Vally Link is a 42 mile 7 station hyrdron rail system theat will link Affordable Housing ion an Joaquin County at Lathrop to good paying jobs on Alameda, Santa Clara and San Franciso Counties at the Dublin / Pleasanton BART Station. The Valley Link Project will serve as a very lucrative alternative for San Joaquin and Stanislaus County residents to get out of their vehicles and hop on an environmentally friendly rail system. I stated this project several years back and currently serve on the Valley Link Board of Directors as the Chairperson. I am very proud of this project and happy to say it is over 60% funded! We also need to focus on the trucking industry and work with Air District to continue to offer incentives for new trucks that are more environmetally friendly as well as the agricultural industry to ensure we are using state of the art farming tools and products that are less harmful to the environment.
