Biography

“Smile…it’s Cargile!” I am the Family Man. My objective, and overwhelming motivation in this political pursuit, is protecting, preserving and providing for our families. As a husband and a father with many good friends, I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to be a Representative for some of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met. Through the years I have been a coach, a crossing guard for my kids, a booster President/fund raiser and a deacon at my church. Professionally, I have been a writer, an actor, a director, a producer, an editor and a marketing director. Additionally, I helped run a small indie music label and managed a rock band from Australia and somewhere in the middle of all that, I helped handle the private label manufacturing for The Power Rangers food products. Prior to my move to California in 1991, I had a short stint as a Quartermaster Army Officer and then went Individual Ready Reserve after Desert Storm. My family has a long history with the US Army and I thought it would be exciting to try something new…Hollywood. I was not disappointed.

Southern California is where I met my beautiful wife, Nan, and where we’ve raised our two kids. I understand that to whom much is given, much is required. And from that is born my desire to serve the people and businesses of the 35th Congressional District of California. This is not about ME, it’s about YOU… my neighbors! At a time of unprecedented assault on our freedoms, our traditions and our Constitution, we need representatives willing to stand in the gap on behalf of the American people. Our citizens deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and unwavering support. I plan on doing just that!

Questions & Answers

Questions from League of Women Voters of California (3)

What financing method(s) would you support to repair or improve roads, rails, ports, airports, the electrical grid, and other infrastructure in the U.S.?
Answer from Mike Cargile:

I believe in a balanced budget approach to EVERYTHING. At the National level, there needs to be a HUGE overhaul of the ridiculous waste and irresponsible spending done on the backs of the American taxpayer. At the State and local levels, I support bond measures. I enjoy seeing private/public investment wherever possible but NEVER in lieu of or because of irresponsible handling of taxpayer dollars.

What programs or legislation, if any, would you support to help Americans of all ages to secure affordable health care?
Answer from Mike Cargile:

Allow robust competition in the marketplace and remove governmental restraints. https://www.cargileforcongress.com/seniors

Describe an immigration policy that you would support if presented to the House of Representatives.
Answer from Mike Cargile:

First, I believe we need to amend our Constitution to clarify a "Natural-Born Citizen" and not leave it up to the Judiciary. Personally, I believe citizenship should flow more from the parents than the soil upon which you were born. Secondly, I believe we need to take a common sense approach to those who are in our country when the wall is finally completed. I am a common-sense, Constitutional, conservative who is Pro-God, Pro-Family, Pro-Life, Pro-Jobs, Pro-Police.
