My Top 3 Priorities
- Holding officials accountable for the state of our city - Our party needs to do a better job of making sure that those who we endorse have real solutions to solving homelessness
- Supporting grassroots groups like, Sister District, Swing Left, Indivisible - These groups have to go out of the party to do the work of electing dems, we need to be more inclusive as a party
- Electing Democrats - As someone who canvasses for Democrats out of state and ran the largest phonebank in the state I know how to get Democrats elected.

Biography
When I was 18 I came out to my family and my community. It showed me how the world can view someone as an 'other'. Living through this experience inspired me to become an activist and push forward to those who come after me can be empowered.
Now, I have accomplished a variety of things as an activist; I got the California Democratic party to adopt the Green New Deal Resolution, ran the largest phonebank in the state, helped flipped Virginia Blue, trained over 300 organizers in a day, registered new voters at citizen swearing-in ceremonies, helped start a democratic club, canvassed across the country for Democratic candidates, and worked to push progressive values nationally.
As such, I feel I am qualified to help make the DCCC more functional and successful in 2020. Right now we need to be capacity building for the November election. Our party should immediately move to open an office, provide training for phone bank captains, and work with groups like Sister District, Swing Left, and Indivisible to see where they need support then strive to provide it.
We also need to start taking drastic measures to address the homeless and housing crisis our city is facing. When my family and I were displaced after our home burned down, we were able to pull through because of community support. Right our community is struggling. The city and DCCC need to reprioritize by including those that are not currently represented at the table and figure out new and innovative ways to lower the cost of affordable housing.
These goals will be a challenge, but with so much at stake in 2020, I have the know-how and experience needed to help see them through. I hope to help rebuild our party, our community, and our city.

My job as a representative is to listen to what the community wants and respond appropriately. As a gay white man, I am not here to be the white-savior nor explain to women what is the most important topic of the day is. On the DCCC I promise to support and listen to the community. Through the power of the DCC I can;
Donald Trump and the National Agenda -
The actions promulgated by our national government have done serious damage to all of our communities; from Bret Kavanaugh to heartbeat bills. This President has turned his back on us, actively working to diminish the progress that has been made. On the DCCC I would work to make sure he was a one-term President.
Housing -
Housing is critical to advancing your own economic independence. I had a friend sleeping on my couch for months because she could not afford to leave her husband here in the city. This city needs to make sure our housing shortage is not an issue for our communities. On the DCCC I would hold our elected officials accountable to their campaign promises on building affordable housing.
Political Representation -
Right now the Board of Supervisors is not representative of the community it governs. I believe having a more diverse leadership is key to creating inclusive communities for our city. On the DCCC I would work to support those kinds of candidates.
My Top 3 Priorities
- Making sure those who have not had a voice in the Democratic Party are heard.
- Increasing civic engagement, outreach, and voter registration with disenfranchised communities
- Working tirelessly to get democrats elected throughout the state.

Honey's body of work speaks to her track record of effective leadership and of creating real, lasting, positive change.
The Democratic Party claims to be about inclusivity and diversity, and yet poor folks, LGB and trans folks, and people of color often times don't feel welcome or heard making them less likely to engage in local elections. Honey has made it a priority to increase outreach and engagement with these communities, so that the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee can do its work and reflect the diversity stated in its values.
It's important that everyone has a seat at the table. If folks don't have a seat, then more often than not, they end up on the menu. If elected, Honey will be the first trans / gender non-conforming person of color ever elected in San Francisco and the State of California. With the ongoing violence and discrimination experienced by trans women of color every day, it's incredibly important that we have people like Honey on the SF DCCC.
Videos (1)
Honey talks about why she loves San Francisco, and how she and her friends banded together to form the Stud Collective and saved San Francisco's oldest LGBTQ nightlife venue from closing.

Biography
After having the honor of being appointed to Mayor London Breed's seat on the DCCC, and having the privilege of representing the people of San Francisco, and beyond, I decided to run as a candidate so that I can continue to serve the community as your voice. I have long participated in the DCCC as a member of the public, and that will always motivate me to remain authentic, and accountable.
I was born in Chicago, and lived in Baltimore, and Washington, DC, before moving to San Francisco at the age of ten. When my mother moved here with my brother and I, she was a young lesbian, single mom, who moved to San Francisco to live her life in a community that would be more accepting. Our first home was in Noe Valley, something almost unimaginable now for a single mom with today's cost of living. She was an activist, and raised us to fight for civil rights, peace, and social justice, which really shaped how I view the world. I graduated from Opportunity II High. In my senior year, I lost dozens of classmates in the Jonestown tragedy, which was a pivotal life experience, and has never left me. During my teen years we also lived in Bernal Heights, the Mission, and the Lower Haight, before settling in the Fillmore, where my mom and I still live to this day.
I raised my three children in the Fillmore, as a former long time welfare mom. I always had part time jobs, and finally went from "welfare-to-work" personally, and eventually, started working in social services myself, where I was once a client. My children and I are all SFUSD alum. I earned my Bachelors degree from the University of San Francisco late in life, and now work coordinating employment services for San Francisco youth.
I have always been active in different movements for social justice. From advocating for peace, to fighting racism, to immigrant rights, to ending the street violence that has claimed so many young lives in our City, to labor. I have been an SEIU member for eighteen years, and am currently a steward, regularly assisting my coworkers.
On the DCCC, I plan to advocate for these issues, and to support candidates, and legislation that will benefit the most vulnerable among us, and to work hard to win back the White House in 2020.

Political Philosophy
I am a life-long Democrat who registered for and voted in the very first election I was eligible to do so. It was 1980 and I voted for Jimmy Carter for President. When he lost, I lived through the death and suffering that happened under the Reagan administration. I have been voting and volunteering for political campaigns ever since. My mother instilled in me a sense of duty to fight for social justice and against racism. Ever since I was a teen, I have been involved with movements to end wars, discrimination, youth violence, and other injustices. I have campaigned for the candidates and legislation that were justice-based and beneficial to people of color, the poor, and disenfranchised. I support immigrant rights and believe in amnesty for all. The current administration is lethal and criminal in its treatment of immigrants and asylum seekers. We need to dismantle the racist systems of government and institutions and promote anti-racist values in society. I support unions and am a long time member of SEIU 1021.
I believe that all people deserve dignified and productive lives. Housing, healthcare, and education are all human rights. I have three grandsons and am determined to fight for a better world for them and their generation, and at this point, for them to have a world-period. On a personal basis, I am vegan for the animal welfare and impact on the planet. I know we need to aggressively work to end the damaging practices and reverse global warming. I categorically reject putting profit over people and we need for the one-percent to take responsibility for the damage they're doing with their "maximum profit" practices. I know we can change the world for the better and if it cuts into their profit, they have the moral obligation to do so. The current system isn't just "failing," it is going to end the planet for all life as we know it and that is not acceptable. This is not some unpredictable natural disaster, but man-made catastrophes that we can prevent.

She supported the office’s legislative and policy initiatives, managed constituent outreach and response, and oversaw the office’s administrative affairs. Prior to that she was the Deputy Director of Public Affairs for NARAL Pro-Choice California, educating voters and advocating on behalf of pro-choice legislation and candidates. Frances has also served as the Senior District Representative for State Senator Carole Migden and a legislative aide to then-Supervisor, now, California Treasurer Fiona Ma.
Frances has been active in advocacy, political campaigns, and community work for over 20 years. As a current member of the DCCC, I have worked hard to deliver on campaign commitments that I made four years ago when I first ran: 1) instituting contribution limits, 2) Reforming the club chartering process, and 3) increasing the parties presence in communities of color.
I feel that I, working with my colleagues, have made progress on those items. We have added candidate contribution limits, required financial reporting by clubs, and instituted a process to screen contributions to the DCCC bylaws; we have made the club chartering process more transparent and have offered training and support for club leaders; and we have brought our meetings out into different communities, adding language and disability access policies, and printing our first ever Chinese and Spanish language slate cards.
I'm running because there is still work to do to make the Democratic party relevant to working class communities of color. I believe the party needs to do a better job of uplifting women and people of color as leaders and working in coalition with other progressive organizations in San Francisco. This is the type of work I have done for most of my political life and want to elevate that to the Party level in a more intentional and broader level.

My Top 3 Priorities
- We must build more housing to make San Francisco more affordable. We must repeal the apartment ban on the West side. We must make it easier to build homes.
- It is too hard and too expensive to open a new small business in San Francisco. It can take as long as a year and $500,000 to navigate the city's permitting system and you aren't even guaranteed your permit. We must make it easier for entrepreneurs.
- We need more immigration. America is a country of immigrants, yet the policies in the Bay Area make it too expensive for most people to move here. In order to live up to our progressive goals, we must build more homes.

I have been fighting for equity and so I’m justice my entire life and have worked hard to make changes that we focus on as Democrats. I am currently a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors (elected November 2018) where I have fought to increase affordable housing, prevent homelessness, provide economic viability in disenfranchised communities, disrupt the youth to prison pipeline, provide oversight in sheriff investigations, protect our immigrants and build an entire metal health support network.

I am serving on and running for the DCCC as a part of the Social Justice Democrat’s Slate “Leading the Blue Wave” because we have to do everything we can to make sure we defeat Donald Trump and promote social justice and equity as a party. I am running for the DCCC because I want to work to ensure that democratic policies and strategies are executed locally, at the state level and across the country. I want to work to register more voters and assist people in participating in the political process so they can change things in their communities and I want to make sure that we have representation that is bold, courageous and not afraid to tackle challenges to make big changes.
