If elected, how much time and energy will you be able to devote to this volunteer position over the next four years, given your other personal and professional obligations?
Respuesta de Robert "Rob" Howard:

I currently volunteer with several organizations with an emphasis on youth engagement. I will use my current volunteer activities to share with the central committee ways to expand the party to youth, veterans and diverse communities. I expect a minimum of 15-20 hours a week dedication to party growth activities.

What is the most significant challenge facing this party in the next decade, and if you are elected, how will you help the party prepare to meet it?
Respuesta de Robert "Rob" Howard:

One of the most significant challenges we face as a party is answering and implementing the question: How do we create a unified party with leadership reflective of the communities that make up the party?

What public figures, past and present, do you believe have given the most postive examples of what this party stands for? Please explain your reasons for thinking so.
Respuesta de Robert "Rob" Howard:

As an African American male who grew up in the South, served in the military, and migrated to Southern California for my career in the nuclear energy field, the one political figure that showed me what the Democratic Party stands for was President Barack Obama.  I watched as he and his wife showed America what integrity and grace look like from a leader.

What he had to endure showed me what was possible for the future of our party and made me proud to be a Democrat.

President Obama put together a program which provided healthcare for millions who did not have it, even in states with primarily Democratic leadership.  Democrats expanded protections for preexisting conditions.  President Obama utilized diplomacy to curb Iran's nuclear aspirations while Republicans ignored facts and tried to take our healthcare.

President Obama's presidency inspired me to work toward engaging young people to see and realize their potential.

Filosofía política

My political Philosophy is that everyone has value.  My faith teaches me that if we embrace the opportunity to learn about others, help when needed, and listen for understanding, we grow individually and collectively.  Unity is powerful and it works.  The Democratic Party can be a beacon of light for all communities when we are not afraid to grow.
