Biografía

I moved to the United States from India in 2000, first to Arizona and then to California.  My two daughters attended Eaton Elementary, Lawson Middle, and Cupertino High School. My eldest child just completed her first year in college, and my younger child graduated from Cupertino High this year. My husband is an engineer and works in the tech industry.  As a family, we love travelling and spending time together.

My involvement in education began when my children started school. During the past thirteen years, I have worked extensively with teachers, administrators, parents, and students in our local public schools.  I have gained leadership experience by leading PTAs at the school and the council level and various booster organizations. I have also served on several school district committees devoted to helping our community thrive. My most memorable experiences have been volunteering alongside students and their families and establishing new programs benefiting our students and school community.

Investing in our public schools and making them stronger is the greatest gift we can give our children.  The breadth and depth of my involvement, along with my professional experience in finance, have also given me a greater understanding of the school district and of the issues important to our school community.   As an FUHSD board trustee, I hope to continue serving our school community, as I have for all these years as a parent leader:  by listening, understanding issues, and working collaboratively with students, parents, teachers and administrators.

My involvement with the school community over the years:
