Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Public Safety
  • Economic Growth
  • Fix Roads and Infrastructure

I have lived in Chico for over 45 years and I was educated through Chico Unified, where I attended Neal Dow, Bidwell Junior and Pleasant Valley High School. I went off to college at University of California, Berkeley, where I earned my degree in architecture. I married my high school sweetheart, Jody and together we have raised our two daughters here in Chico. I've co-owned my small architecture firm for 17 years and have extensive experience with not only our local business community and government, but those in other communities across America. I love this community and I believe that now it is time for me to give back.

My goals are to keep Chico a safe, affordable and attractive community.

Public Safety must remain the top priority of the City Council. I fully support our police, fire and public works departments. Our community is very generous but we cannot be taken advantage of. I support increased staffing and ordinances to give our law enforcement the tools they need to protect our community. Our temporary Street Crimes Unit, which addressed quality of life crimes was pivotal in 34% decrease in overall crime during the summer months and I would love to see that unit made permanent.

Affordability goes beyond the cost of housing. We should encourage economic growth by re-examining the regulations and fees that we put on businesses that are then passed down to the consumer. Some of our land use regulations can be improved to increase the supply and types of housing that our city offers. It is important that the city support our business community and be proactive about bringing employers to Chico because after all, they generate the local revenues that pay for our top priorities: police, fire and roads.

Chico is a beautiful community. We have an incredible downtown, one of the best parks in the country, and a University that educates some of California's top talent. Making sure that our community is safe and affordable will only build upon its attractiveness. We must continue to improve our quality of life and attract businesses that want to do the same.
