Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
When I was first elected to public office I did it as a public service. No one ran for council for the money. We just received a stipend. We all had full time jobs and did not live on our council salary. Today the pay for this part time coucil position is $80,000 plus health insurance and a $750 auto allowance. In comparison, the cities of Rolling Hills, Palos Verdes, and Palos Verdes Estates don't receive a salary. Torrance council is paid $12,000.
I still believe that serving on the council is a public service. After I recover my costs of this election I will be donating to local charities. I will attempt to get the council to voluntarily reduce their salaries.
Carson is suffering the same political disease the rest of our contry is suffering. Special interests have donated tens of thousands of dollars to candidates to get their agenda through the city. I am not taking special interest money. My agenda is only what is good for Carson residents. You are my special interest.
