Early life
Jeffry Caballero was born and raised in the proud working-class community near the Dominguez Park area in the City of Carson. He is the proud son of immigrant parents who came to the United States to pursue the American Dream. Jeffry Caballero is now a federal law attorney, educator, and entrepreneur determined to positively transform the City of Carson through collaboration, transparency, accountability, better public access, better city services, and diversity.
Jeffry's parents instilled in Jeffry and his siblings the values of service to others and getting a good education. During Jeffry’s childhood, his parents turned their dwelling into a foster home where they cared for at-risk and developmentally disabled children. As a child and teenager, Jeffry enjoyed interacting with people of different backgrounds and needs. Growing up, Jeffry always felt that people with special needs, the elderly in his community, and ethnic minorities were often overlooked and underserved. As a result, Jeffry decided to pursue a law degree to better advocate for the vulnerable and underrepresented.
Career and Education
Jeffry Caballero is the managing attorney at Caballero Law Firm in Long Beach. Jeffry has a decade of business experience in various sectors. Jeffry also engaged in strategic planning and handling disputes and business-related legal issues and filings. Throughout his lifetime, Jeffry served on several non-profit committees and boards, both locally and nationally.
Further, Jeffry is passionate about education and the value it serves as he does his job. Carson City Clerk
As a lawyer, Jeffry excels in legal research, analysis of laws, and identifying potential legal issues that can hurt the city clerk’s office. These skills are valuable in delivering greater service to the City of Carson and avoiding expensive legal battles using the taxpayer’s dollars.
Jeffry's platform includes initiatives that will reduce excessive spending of your tax dollars. For example, in 2020, Carson misused over half a million of your tax dollars to settle a voting rights lawsuit that could have been prevented. We could have used those funds to address our city's unmet needs, such as improving housing, supporting our immigrant community, supporting working families, supporting small businesses, improving city services, and better caring for our seniors.
While the city clerk cannot legislate or create policy, he can use his platform to influence policy that can help address the city’s unmet needs and Jeffry promises to do just that.
Overall, Jeffry wants to increase communication with the residents of Carson to better understand their needs and desires for the city. Jeffry believes that the residents don’t get a proper avenue to disclose their concerns too frequently, and the issues of crime, housing, and lack of communication perpetuate the cycle of dissatisfaction with elected officials.
Jeffry believes you deserve independent, committed, fair, and genuine city leaders who will competently advocate for all the people of Carson. Jeffry would be honored to serve you competently as your Carson City Clerk. With your support and vote, we can make Carson a better place together.
