A Good Listener Can Bring Positive Change

The community as a whole wants someone that can listen, and understand. Someone that can get to the root of their problem who also lives with diversity, and someone that can help them find answers that best fit their needs. Every community needs good leadership, and our community according to a new study by U.S. News and World Report is rated at being the most racially diverse city in America.

After my accumulated experiences of participating as a parent advocate to working in the educational system and school campuses. Lodi Unified School District board membership is not as diverse as the community it serves. Many of the main concerns of the parent, student, educational employee and the community is that they are not being heard. To listen means to implement change, and to resist change is to stay in a limited capacity and only appear to listen. The most important part of any orgnization in existence to anyone is how they listen to their citizens, and implement changes to meet their needs. My motive as a board member is to listen to all concens, provide diverse representation, and work towards making positive influences that will be the best outcome for everyone concerned.
