Nancy is a woman with passion and concern for people, not power and self promotion, to see the development of true community; the crossing of racial, generational, political, and economic boundaries, accentuating common goals between people; and helping others achieve growth and deliverance in their lives through mentorship and ministry. She’s authored 6 published books, attained a Bachelors degree in Mass Communications from UC Berkeley, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Doctorate in Theology from Good News Seminary and Bible College, a Minister’s License from Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, and Ordination as Pastor from Shield of Faith International.

Her investment in our next generation begins as the proud mother of four children [Benjamin, Michael, Lydia, and Nathaniel], four step-children (Charmayne, James, Jr., Shaun, and Shannon), and seven grandchildren (Benjamin, Leonard III, Omar, Shannon, Jr., Rachael, Shantez, and Sharmayne). 

Mayor Pro Tem, Dr. Nancy Young believes that if we, the community of Tracy, come together and collectively make our voices heard, we can make Tracy an even better place to live and do business. As a community we are poised to bring many new businesses to Tracy and she will continue to wave the banner that Tracy has a lot to offer, and rally to have a full complement of positive things to offer that will attract business and families alike, including a safe community, a variety of housing, including affordable housing options, and recreational activities for our youth and other opportunities for our future.
