Biography
For as long as I can remember, education has been a big part of my life. I strongly believe that it is fundamental to our growth and the cornerstone of our community. I have spent 5 years teaching in the classroom and advocating for student needs as a special education teacher. I am also the mother of 4 children. I know just how essential it is to get parents and teachers involved in the processes that run our schools. Parents and teachers both know that we need to focus on student growth to improve the schools in our district.
I are very concerned with the way our district is currently being run. Why are they getting rid of teachers who advocate for students? These teachers are the exact teachers I want teaching our children. These are the teachers that have so much passion, they are able to excite our kids and push them to new limits.
I am running for school board to fight for teachers who advocate for our children. I want to collaborate with the city to uplift our most marginalized families, so their children are able to be successful. I will restore our community’s faith in Lemon Grove School District. Our success as a community depends upon the success of our youth.

Biography
I never thought I would run for political office, but in 2018 I decided to take a stand and advocate for the children in our Lemon Grove School District. Amid the uproar over curriculum and staff changes, many of us saw a disconnect between our District leaders and key stakeholders--parents, teachers and staff—who work directly with the kids. I wanted to be part of the solution.
I grew up in this district, and now I am an active parent here. Our small district of 3,582 Students is composed of 61.8% Hispanic students, 24.8% English Learners, and 76.1% are Socioeconomically Disadvantaged. Those statistics match who I was when I was a student.
As a social worker, I have dedicated my life to be a lifelong advocate for children. I have also been an active community volunteer, donating my time at our Little League. In 2017, I was appointed as the Chair for the Community Advisory Commission, a volunteer position with the City of Lemon Grove.
A parent of two school-age children, I currently work as a Parent Volunteer Coordinator in the district. I have held several leadership positions in my children's school as part of the Parent Teacher Association, English Learners Advisory Committee, and School Site Council.
I have always been passionate about my community and hope to be able to help anywhere I can. At this time a seat on the Lemon Grove School Board seems like the best fit!
