Biography
Gee Wah is currently serving as the Clerk of the Board of Trustees. He was selected for the Board in 2019 after helping co-chair the successful campaign for Measure MM, which generated funds for the district to repair and upgrade school facilities, including the construction of two schools. He has one son in 1st grade at Ashley Falls and a very active 1 year old. He enjoys volunteering in his son’s classroom, and while it cannot be verified, he is rumored to be the eagle mascot for his son’s school.
He is an attorney with a background in business litigation. He has litigated numerous cases in the areas of complex commercial matters, insurance coverage and professional malpractice.
He was born and raised in San Diego’s East County to immigrants from Hong Kong. His mother was a city librarian and filled his childhood with a wealth of books. Though he was raised with limited financial resources, his family always provided any necessary support for his education. Similarly, he believes that a quality education is crucial and that every child in the Del Mar Union School District should have the same opportunities for success.
Gee Wah and his wife settled in Carmel Valley to raise their children here in one of the finest school districts in the state. They are heavily invested in the success of this district for their children and their community for years to come.
Gee Wah received his BA from UC Berkeley and his JD from Cornell Law School.

During my tenure on the Board of Trustees, the Board has faithfully maintained discipline to our budget which has allowed the District to plan and build up financial reserves. During the current pandemic, these funds afforded the opening of our schools full-time with options for in-person or online learning by hiring more teachers and paying for extensive safety measures which protect students and staff.
If re-elected, I will continue making fiscially responsible decisions while offering our students an exceptional education. I will also continue to be open and accessible to the community so that I can make well-informed decisions.

Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
Marianne has always wanted to give back to the community and now that her children are older, she has the opportunity. She has two children with disabilities so her passion is special education and equity for all children. The motivating factor for running for school board was to bring a voice to special education families after she heard the plights of countless parents whose children are struggling within DMUSD's special education.
