Biography
San Leandro United! Living in San Leandro for 25 years with my wife and two children, we know the strengths of our community and the challenges we face. San Leandro is at an important juncture, and I am running to unite our community to improve our quality of life and economic opportunities. This is my commitment to you. As a San Leandro Senior Commissioner, I advocate for our Senior residents. As an Oro Loma Sanitary District Board Member, I protect public health. Along with my education from Stanford University and professional career as a civil engineer, my experience provides valuable insight and ability to empower our community to overcome San Leandro’s current challenges. I will strive to: 1)Invest in community equity & quality of life – increase economic opportunities, expand senior and youth services, end homelessness and reduce crime; 2) Beautify San Leandro – improve streets, plant trees and support the arts; and 3) Bring in new businesses and housing – grocery stores, entertainment venues and sustainable housing. At nearly 90,000 residents strong, we have incredible potential to do great things for our city! Together with endorsements by Assemblymember Rob Bonta and the Sierra Club, please vote Fred Simon for San Leandro City Council District 4.

My Top 3 Priorities
ALL schools in San Leandro city limits should be in the San Leandro School District, NOT San Lorenzo
Annex unincorporated areas Ashland, Cherryland, and San Lorenzo into San Leandro
Give the unsheltered/homeless more options and resources
