To maintain Lynn Park Acres Community Service District roads shall a new special tax, replacing the existing one of $100 per improved lot and $75 per unimproved lot, be adopted without expiration, at $200 per improved lot and $150 per unimproved lot? This increase would generate $15,050 annually and would be collected semi-annually via property tax payments.

Supporters say

The special tax levied by the Lynn Park Acres Community Service District has not changed since the 1970s. In that time, there has been a larger that 200% inflation. Every year it has become increasingly difficult for the board to fund maintenance projects resulting in compromise or deferred maintenance. As we have seen recently, a particularly wet winter can result in failures of culverts, road washout and minor landslides. Some of these failures are preventable with sufficient funds for maintenance projects. Others are unforeseeable but still cost the district money to fix. The board is seeking to increase the special tax for two reasons. First is to ensure that we as a community have sufficient funding to provide long term fixes for areas identified to be in need of maintenance. This includes culvert replacement, shoulder and drainage repair, chip/seal of the surface, and eventual repaving. Second is to allow the district to build a cash reserve for years where the maintenance costs are significantly higher than average such as clearing of landslides, localized replacement of pavement, and other atypical but necessary timely repairs. The board is dedicated to ensuring that our district has a safe, functional road for all of its members and respectfully seeks your approval so that we may continue to do so in the face of rising costs.
