John Woodell has lived in San Mateo County for over 20 years, and has been an active member of the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee for over 8 years. He was recently elected to the Executive Board where he served as Recording Secretary. Mr. Woodell also serves on the Government Relations Committee for the American Red Cross Bay Area (ARCBA), and served on the American Red Cross Leadership Council of San Mateo County. Mr. Woodell has been a mentor with Sequoia Union High School District for several years, and has volunteered with Rebuilding Together both with construction and photography.

Political Philosophy

While serving on the Central Committee, Mr. Woodell has made a point of reaching out to and helping candidates. He has also successfully rallied for the endorsement of great candidates that had previously been passed over by the endorsement committee. Mr. Woodell is pleased with the direction the Democratic Central Committee is heading, and hopes to see the organization benefit from even more diversity and more community engagement in the future.
