I am very proud to have the support and endorsement of the entire Monrovia City Council. The five of us—Alexander Blackburn, Larry Spicer, Becky Shevlin, Gloria Crudgington, and I—come from different backgrounds, have different political beliefs, and often view things completely differently. We have found the “Monrovia Sweet Spot” where we find a way to compromise and the path to making Monrovia better than we found it.
One thing I have learned is that being a good Mayor does not come from a vote of the people. The voters give you the seat, but doing the job well requires learning how to build a team that recognizes the value of the individual while finding what is good for all.
Monrovia City Council members work as a cohesive team, I have been endorsed by all four of its current members. Make no mistake, Monrovia benefits by having strong, experienced, committed leaders who recognize the value of collaboration, and the town has benefitted greatly from that rapport. Five years ago, our streets and sidewalks were in great need of repair, and our water and sewer systems were crumbling. Working together, this Council initiated Monrovia Renewal, and look how far we have come!! It is nearly completed! Our community embraces the strength that comes from diversity, and we are more inclusive than ever before. Your Monrovia City Council has opted to focus on what is good for all of us, not a select few, no matter size, shape, color, gender status, or political party!
We all have a choice:
· Follow the lead of politicians from out of town, or
· Listen to those that you have elected, those to whom you have entrusted the keys to the City for the last four years.
Vote for Tom Adams on March 3, 2020. With your support, Monrovia just gets better and better!
See you round town and at the polls!
