Biography

I have been rated "WELL QUALIFIED" by the LA County Bar Association.   Having practice for 40 years in LA County, I have handled every type of case and client.   I also founded my own law firm in 1992, which I have managed successfully since that time.

I have tried cases in both state and federal court, both civil and criminal, jury and non-jury.   I have argued many appeals in the appellate courts, both state and federal.  I have handled matters before various agencies as well, including the Dept. of Fair Employment and Housing, the Writers Guild, the Real Estate Board, the Medical Board, Workers Comp, and the Labor Commisioner.    And I have arbitrated numerous cases, mediated even more, and attended literally hundreds of depositions.  I have also published dozens of articles regarding the law on all types of issues and recent cases and taught numerous continuing education courses to attorneys on legal issues and litigation techniques.

— February 3, 2020 Reuben For Judge 2020

The rules for judging a case are similar to refereeing a soccer game.   As a long time soccer coach and referee, I describe 5 rules that apply to reffing a match and how those 5 rules also apply to making a judical determination.

— February 3, 2020 Reuben For Judge 2020

I explain the need for prompt attention to a case.   Too often is the process slowed down.  I promise to move cases efficiently as well as fairly.
