My Top 3 Priorities

  • Ending homelessness. Housing is a right. Need new permanent supportive housing to eliminate chronic homelessness. case management, healthcare and social services for homeless people.
  • Health care is a human right. In agreement with the California Democratic Party, support legislation to create and implement a publicly-funded healthcare system that provides comprehensive, universal coverage for all Californians.
  • Global warming is a crisis. We need a comprehensive energy security and climate protection law calling for full decarbonization of the economy running on net-zero emissions by 2050, creating millions of good jobs.

Biography

I am a PhD Scientist and Educator at a major national laboratory.  I have been recognized as a Fellow by two prestigious scientific organizations.  Vital to my political work is my analytic experience as a scientist.

I am a Member of the CA Democratic Party Executive Board.  I have served on its Platform Committee, where I wrote major upgrades to the Criminal Justice plank and the Education Plank, making both far more thoughtful and progressive.   Much of the Criminal Justice plank that I wrote has been enacted into California law and appears in the Sanders/Warren platforms.

Many years of contributions:

--  Worked with John Lewis against voter suppression.

--  California Democratic Party Resolutions Committee  (past).

--  Delegate to the Democratic National Convention for Obama.

--  President of the Lamorinda Democratic Club for five years.

--  Past Co-Chair of Mt. Diablo Peace and Justice Center.
