My Top 3 Priorities

  • Push for students in district, county and charter schools to have small class sizes to support both academic and social-emotional learning.
  • Our students, and especially those with the highest needs, need more supports at school like counselors, school psychologists, and nurses. I will push to make sure this happens in all our schools.
  • Educators work with our students every day, and are best positioned to advocate for all our kids to have great schools. This is why I will push to increase educator agency in all (county, district and charter) schools.

Community Activities

Angela Normand’s 13-year career in public education was preceded by ten years of service to our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Her experiences in the field, in the classroom as a special education teacher, and in leadership have well-prepared her for her to run for Alameda County Board of Education, 2nd Trustee Area.

Angela's own own experiences as a student in under-resourced urban public schools molded her into an unrelenting advocate for educational equity and empowerment. Angela believes that knowledge is not only power, but it is a right of all members of our community.
