About Malcolm

Malcolm Norrington is an educator with experience serving students from our most vulnerable to our highest performing. Malcolm has served more than a decade in the classroom as a teacher and another 13 years as a Police Officer.

Malcolm grew up on the South Side of Chicago and in inner city Los Angeles with a single mom. Public education was always an important family value and Malcolm is proud to be the first in his family to go to college.

He currently serves as a Vice Principal at Foothill High School in Pleasanton and previously was a teacher at Valley Continuation High School in Dublin, in Southern California, and in Georgia. He is a visiting committee member of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), traveling to schools to evaluate and make recommendations for accreditation.

As a teacher in Dublin, Malcolm took on special programs such as starting and running the Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE) Program and even learned coding so he could offer the students another elective. He was a member of the Dublin Unified leadership team that visited the Museum of Tolerance to build cultural proficiency and develop a plan to increase equity. He served as a member of both the District’s Wellness Committee and Community Review Committee (focused on future high school).

Malcolm’s dedication to our youth extended beyond the classroom, coaching high school basketball for over twenty years and officiating high school basketball for thirty years.

Malcolm lives in Dublin with his wife Kasey. He is the proud father to twins Blake and Brooklyn, and Madison who are currently in college and two stepsons Kahlil and Kristopher.

A graduate of Cal State Northridge, Malcolm earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English, and a Masters in Education Administration, Leadership, and Policy Studies.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

As an educator, I know how important it is to have good leadership on our school board. As a former police officer, I know how important relationships are in our community.

I am running for school board because you need a trustee who can do both, be an important leader for our schools and students and someone who can bring people together in our community.

Students have always been my focus as a teacher, as a coach, and as an administrator. As a school board member, I want to be sure that every decision we make puts students first.

I am committed to making a difference in the lives of students and families. Let's work together for great schools!
