I have worked since I was 10. I grew up in Brazil and came to the United States 30 some years ago. I had a pottery business which the Earthquake destroyed. I hada successful hair salon for many years. I retired and my husband and I fish a lot! I have tenacity!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just keerp trying. That is why my husband and I catch a lot of fish. I will bring my tenacity to making sure the Harbor is a place that is hassle free. I will examine the Harbor budget and eliminate waste. I will support good projects like having electronic keys for the gates to the docks and making sure to do what it takes to keep the Harbor open all year.
I know how to get the maximun return for the minium amount of money. My boat is an example of this. My boat is a old fishing boat made some 40 years ago. I bought it for 6 times less than the average fishing boat in the Harbor. My husband and I worked hard to reinforce the fiberglass on the bottom of my boat and on the back transom of my boat. We did the work ourselves. The cost per fish I catch off of my boat is a lot less than the cost per fish caught on other fishing boats in the Harbor. I will use the same financial skills I use in life to examine the money being spent in the Hafrbor and make sure we are getting the maxiimun benefit for the minium expenditure. When I have my motor worked on that is on my boat I go to the best mechanic and have everything done right. You have to have common since on what you can save on and what you need to be sure is done right even though it may cost you a lot. I have a lot of common since!!!!!!!!

A more friendly user Harbor. More baby Salmon should be released from Santa Cruz Harbor.
Summary
Parking for merchants on the East side of the Harbor by the docks is a real hassle.
Parking priority should be for slip renters and their guests.
The Santa Cruz Harbor is a ideal place to release baby Chinook Salmon.
If you want to buy fish at the fish market you have to go to a machine which sometimes does not work and get a ticket. I would like to see for the merchants have several parking spaces that are free for those who are doing business at their establishment. There would be signage stating that if your car is parked in a merchants spot and there is a random check by security and you are not in the merchants store you are going to get a huge ticket.
Slip renters should be able to purchase passes for their guests.
Studies by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife show that Santa cruz Harbor has a 5 times higher rate of the baby Chinook Salmon becoming adults if they are released in Santa Cruz Harbor than if they are releaased by the hatcheries in the Central Valley where the baby Chinook Salmon are produced. A study was done of baby Chinook Salmon where 170,000 babies were released from Santa Cruz Harbor in 2011. The baby Chinook Salmon were all tagged. There were 7,788 tagged adult Chinook Salmon caught in the Ocean that had come from the 170,000 released baby Chinook Salmon from Santa Cruz Harbor. This is 4.6% recovery rate. In the Central Valley Hatcheries release recovery rate is between .5%-1%. If your looking at 30,000,000 baby Chinook Salmon raised every year in California Hatcheries that is a lot more adult Salmon you get in the Ocean if you released the baby Salmon in Coastal places like Santa Cruz Harbor compared to releasing the baby Chinook Salmon in streams and rivers by the hatcheries.
