Mendocino County is my home. My wife, Jona Saxby, and I raised our family here.
My parents, both teachers, taught me that I have a duty to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. The law provided me with the ideal path to follow their teaching.
An attorney for 23 years, I have served in the Mendocino County Public Defender’s Office and District Attorney’s Office. I know the challenges and complexities on both sides of the criminal law. As Chief Trial Deputy, Assistant DA and then interim District Attorney, I supervised attorneys, investigators and support staff, and managed a multi-million dollar budget. I have personally handled more than 40 homicide cases in my career. I have never had a case reversed on appeal.
In private practice I handle criminal, civil, property, family and juvenile law cases. In addition, I have taught Criminal Justice at Mendocino College, coached Mock Trial, and I serve on the boards at Project Sanctuary and the Mendocino County Law Library.
I am my own person. As judge, I will always listen and make every decision fairly and with integrity. I would be honored to serve Mendocino County as Superior Court judge. I respectfully request your vote.
