Biography
I have lived in Buena Park for over twenty –three years with my husband Kenny and my two dogs Benny and Gigi. We have one daughter and nine adopted grandchildren (four grown, two married, two in college) and two great grandchildren. I enjoyed an exceptional thirty year career at Northrop Grumman holding positions in Property Management and Manager, in Facilities Management. I am a small business owner and a strong believer in giving back our community. Talking to the residents and meeting with local businesses.
Our diversity is what makes Buena Park so special. My motto is “Inclusive to all, Exclusive to none”. I have been involved in my community for over 20 years. I am the President, of the Boys & Girls Club of Buena Park joined 2013; On the Board of Directors of: Buena Park Women’s Club joined in 1998; Giving Children Hope joined in 1999; The President of the Buena Park School District Education Foundation joined in 2014 (given over 40 grants to our schools) and the Chair for 2018 Buena Park Prayer Breakfast. I also sit on the Buena Park Collaborative Steering Committee a group of over 25 different organizations that work closely with our community, Schools, St. Jude's, American On Track, City Net and many other organizations.
Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
At the local level of government, the Council member position is a non-partisan seat. That works well with my political believes. We must work together across all party lines and with all people to achieve our goals of doing what's best for the entire community. We are a diverse city of 84,000 residents with great talents and human resources.
As an elected official I believe you must be involved in your community. Be visible. listen to residents, businesses and schools. Be accessible to everyone and take action. Have an open door policy and treat everyone not matter of their economic stats, color, race or gender with kindness and respect. At the end of the day you may have to agree to disagree on an issue, but you continue to work together for the good of the community. That's why I have my cell phone on all my city cards and my city email address.
