Biography

Council Member Christine Marick is currently serving her second term on the Brea City Council.  She was first elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2016.  She previously served as Mayor in 2016 and 2019.  Prior to her election to the City Council, she served on the City’s Planning Commission.  Christine currently serves on Orange County’s Public Library Advisory Board and Waste Management Commission as well as the City’s Investment Advisory Committee.

Christine is committed to protecting the taxes we all pay and ensuring that city funds are used in the best way possible:

  • Reducing Brea’s unfunded pension liability
  • Promoting term limits for city council members
  • Forging strong partnerships with the school district
  • Reducing “red tape” at city hall for homeowners and businesses
  • Investing prudently in our parks and infrastructure

Brea is a thriving community — great neighborhoods and schools, services, and businesses.  That’s why Christine has encouraged partnerships within the city and with our neighboring cities.  Working together toward common goals is always better than working apart.

Born and raised in Washington, DC, Christine earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University and her MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.  She has worked in diverse industries, including government, educational services, and investment management.  She is currently the Chief Professional Officer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Brea-Placentia-Yorba Linda.

Christine has called Brea home since 2003.  She and her husband were initially drawn to Brea for its hometown feel, abundant shopping and dining, and convenient location.  They now appreciate Brea’s high level of community services and citizen involvement as well as the high quality schools.  Christine and her husband have two children, a junior in high school and a sixth grader.
