The speed of change we’ve seen in the last few decades is nothing compared to what’s on the horizon with the emergence of radical new technology and science. I’ve spent the last decade advocating for this change in America, and I’ve become widely recognized as a one of the country’s leading futurists. Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente is living proof that the American Dream can be achieved by those who are inspired to pursue it. Rocky was born in 1945 in San Diego, California. His parents, Roque and Bertha, instilled the deep sense of responsibility toward others that Rocky still holds so dear. This message of “service to others” was reinforced by the Carmelites of the Sacred Heart, The Daughters of the Holy Spirit, Dominican Pillars, Legionaries of Christ, Maris and Jesuits, who provided his education during his formative years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics from Instituto Patria and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then studied Business Administration / Accounting at Anáhuac University and the University of San Diego.

On January 29, 2016, Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from UNESCO, the Institute of Advanced Studies Foundation Le Franc and CONALMEX, for being an outstanding international business ambassador with a phenomenal track record, Rocky’s studies in Mexico and the United States taught him to appreciate cultural differences. Less than two years later, he became General Sales Manager of Kearny Mesa Volkswagen. Two years after that, he founded American Automotive Management & Services, Inc, and acquired his first new car franchise, He added 27 more over the next 16 years, including Alfa Romeo, American Motors (AMC), Audi, Cadillac, Chrysler, Daihatsu, Dodge, Dodge Truck, GMC trucks, Honda, Isuzu Jeep, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury, Merkur, Oldsmobile, Peugeot (3), Plymouth, Pontiac, Porsche, Renault, Subaru (2) and Volkswagen (2), for a total of a total of 28 new car franchises in California. At the age of 28, Rocky was recognized by his peers and elected Chairman of the National Dealer Council for the third largest Automotive Company in the world at the time.

When Rocky wanted to explore new opportunities, he sold 27 of his automotive franchises and kept 1: Cadillac, which symbolized the best that America had to offer He renamed his business American International Enterprises Inc., dba American International Realty, He purposely used “America” in the names as an expression of his appreciation for his country, If you need more proof, Rocky wanted to fly a large American flag over his Cadillac dealership, but the city’s governing body emphatically said, “No!” Rocky refusing to back down, battled in court for 9 years before winning the right to honor our country with what has become a prominent landmark; a 3,000 square foot flag flying from the tallest free standing flag pole in the United States

Because of his heritage and deep connection with the Latino community, Rocky reached out to Mexico during its financial crisis, which arose in 1982 when its banks were nationalized by presidential decree. meet-rocky-3He opened 11 currency exchanges to allow free-flowing trade between Mexico and the United States, As part of this network, he simultaneously opened seven offices in California including Los Angeles (3), San Isidro (3) and Calexico, as well as four in Texas in the cities of El Paso (2), Laredo and McAllen, Over the next five years, Rocky founded three US banks; one being a National Bank approved by the OCC and two State Charter Banks approved by the California Banking Commission and the FDIC Rocky knows quite a bit about our borders as well, He became the first citizen to exchange private land with the State of California; trading 787 acres to be used in the construction of the Donovan Penitentiary in Otay Mesa in return for 310 acres next to where an international border crossing was being planned, He simply did not think that it was appropriate for someone’s first glimpse of the United States to be a prison complex. Roque was honored to be the first person to cross the Otay Mesa Border Crossing when it opened in January 24th, 1985‘ His real estate development expertise led to appointments by the City of San Diego to the “Annexation Task Force” to annex County of San Diego lands to the City of San Diego, as well as the Otay Mesa Developing Council, In that same year, he started the De La Fuente Business Park, founded National Enterprises Inc., and acquired the tallest building in San Francisco (circa 1910), Rocky also bought other prized properties in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, San Diego, San Diego. Donald J. Trump is the very definition of the American success story, setting the standards of excellence in his business endeavors, and now, for the United States of America.

A graduate of the Wharton School of Finance, President Trump has always dreamed big and pushed the boundaries of what is possible his entire career, devoting his life to building business, jobs and the American Dream. Governor Weld has an unblemished record of public service. In addition to seven years in the Department of Justice, he served two terms as Governor in Massachusetts, where he was reelected by the largest margin in state history. He cut taxes 21 times, never raised them, balanced the budget, and oversaw six upgrades in the state’s bond rating. He signed landmark welfare reform, made public schools accountable, and was a trailblazer as an early proponent for LGBT civil rights. Governor Weld was ranked the most fiscally conservative Governor in the country by the Cato Institute and the Wall Street Journal.

Widely credited with bringing Massachusetts back from the brink of bankruptcy, Bill was ranked the most fiscally conservative governor in the country by both The Wall Street Journal and the Cato Institute. When he was elected, Massachusetts faced a $1.3 billion dollar deficit. Unemployment was at 9.1% – 2.3 % above the national average – and the state had the 2nd highest income taxes per capita in the nation.

Believing “there is no such thing as government money, only taxpayer money,” Bill cut taxes 21 times, balanced the budget without borrowing from Wall Street, reined in wasteful programs, improved state services, and signed into law one of the strongest welfare reform laws in the country. His regulatory reforms made state government a partner, not an adversary, to job creators and entrepreneurs.

The result: Massachusetts didn’t just emerge from a fiscal crisis; it thrived. Unemployment, health care costs, and welfare rolls decreased while the state’s bond rating and reserves increased.

Bill Weld achieved all this as a Republican governor in a blue state where Democrats out-numbered Republicans by more than 3 to 1 in the state legislature. Building alliances across party lines was a hallmark of his administration — a stark contrast to what is happening in Washington today. Bill restored the state’s financial health while fighting for tougher criminal justice laws, better education, and protection of natural resources & open space. He was one of the first governors in the U.S. to advocate equal rights for the LGBTQ community, demonstrating his unequivocal belief that all citizens be treated equally.

Prior to being elected governor, Bill served in President Ronald Reagan’s Justice Department, first as the United States Attorney for Massachusetts, where he won 109 convictions in 111 prosecutions of public corruption, and then as Assistant U.S. Attorney General in charge of the Criminal Division, working on many of the Reagan administration’s criminal justice initiatives, including the capture of Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega on drug trafficking charges.

Earlier in his career, as a staff member on the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, Bill participated in the Watergate impeachment inquiry. He also worked for US Senator Jacob K. Javits (R-NY). He served as national co-chair of the U.S. Privatization Council & of U.S. Term Limits.
