Bruce A. Moss, a Temporary Judge and long-time family law attorney is running for Superior Court Judge in Seat #129.

Bruce has been serving as a volunteer Temporary Judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court since 2017. During that time, he presided over family law cases as well as domestic violence, civil harassment, and elder abuse cases.

Temporary Judges serve at the discretion of the Presiding Judge and must be members of the California State Bar in good standing for 10 years. During his time as a Temporary Judge, Bruce has volunteered, on average, one day a week to help the Los Angeles Superior Court serve the needs of the community and has heard hundreds of legal matters.

In 2018, Bruce was selected to run a pilot project for the family law court in Van Nuys to help reduce the almost four-month backlog of cases. Through Bruce’s efforts, the case backlog was reduced by approximately fifty percent.

Bruce is a family law attorney who has been practicing for over 30 years, serving families with compassion and understanding as they go through the most trying times in their lives. Bruce has handled thousands of family cases dealing with child custody, child and spousal support, and domestic violence. Bruce is especially proud of his success in helping his clients reach an amicable resolution in over 90 percent of his cases.

Since announcing his candidacy for Judge in Seat #129, Moss has garnered the endorsement of Judge Huey Cotton, Supervising Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court (Van Nuys), Judge Michael Amerian of the Los Angeles Superior Court (Van Nuys), and Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Diego Edber as well as several Court Commissioners.

The Los Angeles County Bar Association has rated Bruce A. Moss “Qualified” to serve as a Superior Court Judge.

In his spare time, Bruce is an active community member and committed volunteer. He has been active in City of Hope, Concern Foundation, and Shomrei Torah Synagogue. Bruce particularly likes to combine his love of philanthropy with his passion for golf. He has organized over 50 golf tournaments and raised more than $1 million for various organizations.

Bruce is a native Angeleno who attended Inglewood High School, the University of Southern California and San Fernando Valley College of Law. He and his wife Susan have three children and three grandchildren. Bruce and Susan have lived in the West Hills area of Los Angeles for the past 20 years and have been residents of the San Fernando Valley since 1980.
