Megan Crawford is a lifelong resident of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Attending Rancho Vista Elementary School, Miraleste Intermediate School, and Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, Megan is a testament to the high standard of education offered by the District. With the strong educational background Megan received in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District (PVPUSD), she continued on to obtain an AA degree from Marymount California University, followed by a BA in Environmental Studies and Geography from UCLA,  then an MA (Master of Arts) in Education from Pepperdine University. Aiming to further her education even more, Megan is now enrolled in the MPA (Master of Public Administration) program at USC.

Inspired by her years enrolled in the PVPUSD, Megan has devoted her career to education and is currently a teacher for the Redondo Beach Unified School District. Additionally, she has advocated for public school education by being a California delegate at the annual NEA Representative Assembly. Her personal relationship to PVPUSD, combined with her educational background and experience in the field, gives Megan the unique perspective needed to maximize the potential that lies within PVPUSD. Megan also believes in the younger generation making a difference in the world, and her enthusiastic energy and new ideas will also contribute to diversity on the School Board. Megan hopes to incorporate the wealth of knowledge she has accumulated into a plan for the district that prioritizes student wellbeing, community impact, and a balanced budget, all while maintaining the standard of excellence attributed to PVPUSD Schools.

Megan understands that the ties between the Palos Verdes community and the school district are of the utmost importance, and nurturing a relationship between the two is essential. She believes that students should be engaging with our beautiful coastal community and that transparency and trust must be maintained. For Megan, fostering student and community growth is always the end game.

As a former High School coach, Matthew has understanding and empathy to support our educators. As a government contracted subject-matter-expert in counter-terrorism and force-protection, he will provide crucial insight into the security concerns facing our campuses, and the dangers our students face, both internally and externally. As a small business owner, and member of the PTA, Matthew understands how to work with limited budgets, how to watch every dollar, and yet not to lose sight of what is important – the development and growth of our students - and the sucess of our district. The success of the district relates to the value of our homes and our ability to attract top students. As a parent, Matthew Brach knows that we must trust and work together, to achieve our goals.

Dr. Jeannie Hahn is an active member of the Palos Verdes community. She and her husband, Dr. Walter Chung, with their two daughters, Sara and Charlotte, moved to Rancho Palos Verdes for the high performing schools and wonderful community. She has been a dedicated volunteer in the school district since her daughters started school over 11 years ago. Her youngest daughter attended Palos Verdes Hills Nursery School, where Jeannie served on their nursery school board. Her daughters have attended PVPUSD schools since kindergarten. Sara is a junior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School and Charlotte is a 8th grader at Ridgecrest Intermediate School.  

Jeannie graduated from University of Southern California (USC) with a PhD in Sociology of Marriage and Family Therapy. She also has two masters’ degrees: a Master of Arts from USC for Sociology and a Master of Science from Loma Linda University for Marriage and Family Therapy. Her undergraduate degree is from Cal State Fullerton in Communications. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and specializes in working with children, teenagers, and families.

Advocacy has been a passion for Jeannie for schools and the district. The Palos Verdes Peninsula Council of PTAs presented her an award for spearheading the initiative to have our school district start using green cleaning products. Jeannie and Terry Kamibayash, Head of Maintenance for PVPUSD, worked in collaboration to bring about a change in the type of cleaning products used in the district. Currently, the PVPUSD is using green cleaning products at every school site.

Jeannie also led the Ridgecrest Air Condition Committee that lobbied the school district to address the high temperatures at Ridgecrest. This resulted in an A/C feasibility study and the installation of  cool water dispensers. Ridgecrest was the first school to have these dispensers. The A/C feasibility study shed light on the need to improve the electrical grid for the school. This upgrade is scheduled to occur this year. The study also included several other schools in the district that did not have A/C and examined their ability to house A/C.  

Volunteering at schools has helped Jeannie have insight on how the schools and the district operates. She has held various PTA Board positions, PTA Chairpersonships, and is a mentor for the PVPHS Robotics team. She has received several awards from PV schools and proudly supports the Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF).  Her favorite volunteering position has been being a room mom for both her children. Jeannie believes that having "boots on the ground" or having children attending schools in the district has given her first hand knowledge to the joys, concerns, and issues that families face in their education journey
