St. Louis northsider, Steve Hill, has, throughout his life, acquired knowledge and experience as an African American man that began life in poverty. After graduating high school in 1979, Steve continued the family tradition by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. Once he completed his five years of service, having earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5), he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the aerospace industry. With nearly a decade dedicated to aerospace, Steve, then, opted to make a difference in a new, and arguably more challenging, way by becoming part of the California Department of Corrections.
Ten years and 2 maximum security prisons later, Steve assumed responsibility for student and faculty safety as the campus supervisor and made another major career change to real estate appraisal. Taking the opportunity of a vocational fresh start, and the real estate boom of the early 2000s, Steve established his own company, Anaverde Appraisal, in the Antelope Valley in northern LA county.
Having been a witness to the mortgage meltdown and the ongoing Wall Street corruption, as well as the underrepresentation for the working class families of America,Steve became a voice for the censored and suppressed via one of the purest form of sociopolitical commentary, comedy.
Utilizing his ability to induce laughter and joy, he opened minds to uncomfortable, yet highly important issues in a way that allows the people to address and acknowledge these problems in a dialogue conducive environment, as is the tradition of the comedian throughout the centuries.
Continuing to honor his oath to protect the nation, the constitution, and the people against all enemies, foreign and domestic, Marine Corps veteran and sociopolitical activist and small business owner Steve Hill has chosen to step up and take on the status quo with his campaign Steve Hill for Senate 2016.
