Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente is living proof that the American Dream can be achieved by those who are inspired to pursue it. Rocky was born in 1945 in San Diego, California. His parents, Roque and Bertha, instilled the deep sense of responsibility toward others that Rocky still holds so dear. This message of “service to others” was reinforced by the Carmelites of the Sacred Heart, The Daughters of the Holy Spirit, Dominican Pillars, Legionaries of Christ, Maris and Jesuits, who provided his education during his formative years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics from Instituto Patria and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then studied Business Administration / Accounting at Anáhuac University and the University of San Diego.

On January 29, 2016, Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from UNESCO, the Institute of Advanced Studies Foundation Le Franc and CONALMEX, for being an outstanding international business ambassador with a phenomenal track record, Rocky’s studies in Mexico and the United States taught him to appreciate cultural differences. While he noticed that people’s perspectives may differ based upon the environments they were raised in and the opportunities they were presented, he quickly realized that the differences did not matter; they simply added to the enrichment of the world around him, As a result, Rocky became a “people person;” someone who truly loves spending time learning, teaching and sharing thoughts with others Rocky was born an entrepreneur, He started his first business at the age of nine and was employing classmates by eleven, Then, as a young adult, he entered the automotive business in 1974‘ Rocky’s first jobs in the automotive industry were selling cars for Mazda and Toyota dealerships in El Cajon, CA. Less than two years later, he became General Sales Manager of Kearny Mesa Volkswagen. Two years after that, he founded American Automotive Management & Services, Inc, and acquired his first new car franchise, He added 27 more over the next 16 years, including Alfa Romeo, American Motors (AMC), Audi, Cadillac, Chrysler, Daihatsu, Dodge, Dodge Truck, GMC trucks, Honda, Isuzu Jeep, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury, Merkur, Oldsmobile, Peugeot (3), Plymouth, Pontiac, Porsche, Renault, Subaru (2) and Volkswagen (2), for a total of a total of 28 new car franchises in California. At the age of 28, Rocky was recognized by his peers and elected Chairman of the National Dealer Council for the third largest Automotive Company in the world at the time.

When Rocky wanted to explore new opportunities, he sold 27 of his automotive franchises and kept 1: Cadillac, which symbolized the best that America had to offer He renamed his business American International Enterprises Inc., dba American International Realty, He purposely used “America” in the names as an expression of his appreciation for his country, If you need more proof, Rocky wanted to fly a large American flag over his Cadillac dealership, but the city’s governing body emphatically said, “No!” Rocky refusing to back down, battled in court for 9 years before winning the right to honor our country with what has become a prominent landmark; a 3,000 square foot flag flying from the tallest free standing flag pole in the United States

Because of his heritage and deep connection with the Latino community, Rocky reached out to Mexico during its financial crisis, which arose in 1982 when its banks were nationalized by presidential decree. meet-rocky-3He opened 11 currency exchanges to allow free-flowing trade between Mexico and the United States, As part of this network, he simultaneously opened seven offices in California including Los Angeles (3), San Isidro (3) and Calexico, as well as four in Texas in the cities of El Paso (2), Laredo and McAllen, Over the next five years, Rocky founded three US banks; one being a National Bank approved by the OCC and two State Charter Banks approved by the California Banking Commission and the FDIC Rocky knows quite a bit about our borders as well, He became the first citizen to exchange private land with the State of California; trading 787 acres to be used in the construction of the Donovan Penitentiary in Otay Mesa in return for 310 acres next to where an international border crossing was being planned, He simply did not think that it was appropriate for someone’s first glimpse of the United States to be a prison complex. Roque was honored to be the first person to cross the Otay Mesa Border Crossing when it opened in January 24th, 1985‘ His real estate development expertise led to appointments by the City of San Diego to the “Annexation Task Force” to annex County of San Diego lands to the City of San Diego, as well as the Otay Mesa Developing Council, In that same year, he started the De La Fuente Business Park, founded National Enterprises Inc., and acquired the tallest building in San Francisco (circa 1910), Rocky also bought other prized properties in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, San Diego, San Diego. County, Auburn, El Cajon, Hemet, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, National City, Stanton, and Yorba Linda, California as well as in Cincinnati, Ohio, Cohoes, New York, Hartford, Connecticut, and West Palm Beach, Florida In addition, Rocky owns residential complexes in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Texas and Virginia Rocky has developed assisted living facilities in Los Angeles (San Pedro) and Lemon Grove, California, to care for seniors who are in need He is well-known for his generous support of charities and military veterans’ organizations through our Nation. To provide a further perspective on the breadth of Rocky’s accomplishments, at the age of 20, he earned (and holds) a Single Engine License (SEL) from the FAA, He has also acquired and continues to hold many Automobile Dealer Licenses in California, Finally, his companies hold various business licenses in many states, including a Real Estate Brokers License in California, While some accomplished business people try to launch themselves into the political world, Rocky has been politically active for decades He considers it his civic responsibility and a way to give a voice to the Hispanic Americans and other minorities, who are too often ignored, In 1992, Rocky was the first Hispanic American to serve as an At-Large Delegate (i,e., Superdelegate) for the State of California at a Democratic National Convention, which he did in 1992 at the request of Willie Brown, who was Speaker of the California State Assembly at the time He was joined by Dianne Feinstein, Kathleen Brown and Phil Angelides, who were all well-recognized among the Democratic ranks. In addition, Governor Jerry Brown, former Governor Gray Davis and former Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante have benefitted from his support and have been included among his friends for over 20 years Rocky’s greatest joy in life is his five children, Roque III (RD3), Katayoun (Katita), Ricardo (Ricky), Kassandra (Kassy) and Kamila (Kami), whom he raised with his only wife, Katayoun, He has always wanted to build a better world for them and for future generations That desire remains as the driving force behind his campaign: To build a better world for his children and for the children of the world Rocky is truly a man of the people, He does not have to pretend to understand the perspectives of minorities because he is one.

Rocky De La Fuente has been fighting for the underdog his whole life. His humble beginnings in San Diego, CA and his childhood on both sides of the US border led him to develop an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong work ethic early in life. He persevered in the face of adversity and overcame obstacles to achieve the American dream.

Rocky often states that he lives in the real world rather than the political one and does not have to pretend to understand the issues affecting the underserved, minorities or immigrants because he has lived it.

He has developed the street smarts and common sense that will serve him in bringing transformation and practical solutions to the problems that Americans face. Just as Rocky battled in court for 9 years and won the right to fly the American flag on a prominent landmark to honor our country, he will fight for The American Dream.

The many challenges that Rocky overcame as he built companies from the ground up have made him empathetic to the those who are often overlooked or underrepresented in the halls of power.

His desire to build a better world for future generations is the driving force that guides this fight. He will be a leader for all the people that unites and strengthens communities.

My life, like most of yours, has had its ups and downs. My father and my mom each worked 80 to 90 hours per week, which taught me to be independent at a very early age.

As the saying goes, we were poor but didn’t know it. We had an outhouse that was nicer than the one most of our neighbors had. We always had shoes. My mom was a McCoy, although not directly related to those who feuded with the Hatfield’s in the hills of Kentucky where I was born.

My early years were occupied by baseball, pumping gasoline into coal miners’ cars at our family gas station, and watching Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith, Bonanza, Wagon Train, and Rawhide – that is, after we got our first television when I was seven years old. The town I lived in most of my first 18 years was Delorme, West Virginia, population of 400 at the time – now maybe 200.

My first six years of schooling was at Delorme grade school. It too had an outhouse, but the water system was better than at home. It had a hand pump, so you didn’t have to use a bucket to get the water out of the well. The three things I remember most were the pot belly coal stove, the fact that you could only use two perforations of toilet paper, that there were six of us in my grade, and 36 total in six grades. I also remember that all thirty-six of us would line up outside the school most mornings to sing “God Bless America” and say the “Pledge of Allegiance.” Later, when I went to middle school/high school in Matewan, West Virginia, there were 700 students and 119 in my class. I remember being scared that I would get lost changing classes, but I never did. I managed to graduate second in my class. Although I didn’t want to be, I was elected President of the student body — my first political experience. The school had steam radiator heat which was fueled by a coal furnace, drinking fountains, and indoor toilets.

Next, it was on to Marshall University. I was there when the football team was killed in the plane crash in 1970. This was my first experience with a horrific tragedy. Of course, the worst tragedy of my life was the day of the Massey mine explosion on April 5, 2010. I also have vivid memories of the day President Kennedy was shot, and of course of 9/11. Those were three heartbreaking days to be sure.

At Marshall I skipped more classes than I attended, but still managed to get a four year degree in three years. The first summer break I worked washing cars, and in later summers I worked in the coal mines to pay my tuition. I graduated in 1972 “without” honors, but took the CPA exam and passed all four parts the first time.

The following ten years I worked in the food industry with Keebler Company, then Flower’s Industry. I received each promotion that was available to me during those ten years. This meant that I had to move often, living in Chattanooga, Macon, Chicago, Denver, and in Thomasville, Georgia. In Denver, I met Mary and got married, and later had two children, Jennifer and John. Today I have three grandchildren, Marilynn, Emmalynn, and Arabella.

In 1982, I came to work for Massey Coal Company and was there until December 2010. Again, I received every promotion available to me during those years. I learned about, and struggled against, the ignorance and evilness of the United Mine Workers, much of the media, the “greeniacs,” and much of corporate America.

I retired in 2010 and have since spent much of my time managing my finances, enjoying my son’s racing, and spending time with my best friend, Meiling.

In short, my life has been a great one. I experienced the cold chill of an Appalachian outhouse in January winters, but I have also dined at the dinner tables of some of the richest and most powerful people in the world, including at the White House private dining table. Hopefully I can communicate to you my wide range of life experiences and what they have taught me, and in doing so, I can make a small contribution to saving our Country.

As you reflect on what I write, remember that even Robert Kennedy Jr., said that I am an honest man. You should also know that I hold not only the liberals of the media, the union, and the environmental movement responsible for the plight of our country, but also those who call themselves conservatives who oversee corporate America. Many of these corporate executives too often place the pledge they sign each quarter to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley above their much more important “Pledge of Allegiance” to the United States of America and to that for which it stands.

Since the initial development of my website, I was indicted by now former US Attorney Booth Goodwin in the southern district of West Virginia and charged with conspiring to willfully violate mine safety laws, falsifying Security and Exchange Commission filings and issuing a false press release. The charges carried a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.

After a trial that lasted 27 days, the jury then deliberated for two weeks before reaching a verdict. I was found not guilty of all felonies, and guilty of a misdemeanor charge of conspiracy with no intent to defraud the United States.

The trial Judge Irene Berger sentenced me to the full maximum: one year in prison, a $250,000 fine, and one-year probation.

I served my sentence at Taft Federal Correctional Institution in California.

John Richard “J.R.” Myers has been active in community affairs since an early age. He has served on countless non-profit boards of directors. He has chaired numerous political groups and parties. He has run several campaigns for public office. He has served on local government boards. He holds two masters degrees, one in Human Services, the other in Professional Counseling. He is a licensed Counselor in Alaska and Montana. He also holds a Master of Addiction Counselor credential and currently serves as the Behavioral Health Director of the Glacier Community Health Center in Cut Bank, Montana.

Now, in his continuous pursuit of Constitutionally based government and to, ‘Restore the Republic’, J.R. has helped to found the national Life and Liberty Party and decided to run as a candidate for President of the United States in 2020.

J.R. has already been campaigning in Alaska and Idaho, and plans on events in California, Montana and Arkansas soon. He has a website (JohnRichardMyers.com), Facebook Page, Twitter account and YouTube channel. He has given several interviews, and looks forward to more, as well as to any and all debates. He hopes to be on at least enough state ballots to reach the theoretical thresold of Electoral College Victory at 270, and to establish the Life and Liberty Party as the vehicle for those Americans who want real political change.

The L&LP has already obtained 2020 ballot access for its Presidential candidate in Arkansas, and will be seeking ballot access in more states. Additionally, J.R. has agreed to be placed on the CP Virginia ballot petition as a place holder candidate for Vice President. J.R. is scheduled to debate five other candidates in Boise on February 29. All are seeking the Constitution Party of Idaho ballot line. J.R. will also appear in the March 3, 2020 California primary election ballot as a candidate of the American Independent Party. This will be followed by his appearance on the Constitution Party of Idaho primary ballot on March 10.  In 2016, he won three counties in California and came in second place in Idaho, eventually being nominated as the CP ID candidate for Vice President of the United States on the Copeland/Myers ticket.

End the Federal Reserve and the IRS. Review other federal agencies and programs for constitutionality. Healthy elections begin with healthy campaigns. Proper voter registration, ballot access liberalization, balloting, vote counting, permanent records, ethical campaign finance reform, unbiased coverage and debate inclusion of all ballot qualified candidates are essential.
