I’m a business and community leader, a wife and a mother. I care deeply about the future of my children and all of our children – and in the State Assembly, I will work with you to support and protect our community.
I grew up in San Diego County in a hard-working family. My stepfather was a union machinist and my mom was a homemaker who worked various odd jobs to help make ends meet.
I am a proud product of Southern California public schools. Even though I didn’t live in a community with a lot of resources, I went to a good public high school and had some wonderful teachers. They encouraged me to see a bigger world and to envision a bigger future for myself.
Growing up, I set my sights high and I worked hard. I received scholarships, took out student loans and worked part-time jobs in order to attend Yale University, where I double-majored in English and Economics.
After college, I have enjoyed a 20-year career in finance and marketing. I have built businesses and led teams at Fortune 500 corporations, small companies and start-ups. In the business world, I’ve demonstrated my ability to tackle tough problems with strategic vision and pragmatic action. I’ve lived and worked in Washington DC, South Africa, London and – for the past 5 years – back here in Southern California.
I live in Laguna Beach with my family – my husband Colin, our two sons Dylan & Hayden and our rescue dog Flounder.
In my community, I serve on the board of the Laguna Beach Democratic Club and the Laguna Beach City Housing and Human Services Committee. I serve as an Assembly District Delegate for the California Democratic Party and am a founding member of the 48th District Action Council.
