My Top 3 Priorities
To throw out the present income tax code and replace it with a simple 15% Flat Rate Income Tax.
I believe in term limits for U.S. congressmen and senators and will support legislation to enact this.
The internet has succeeded because it was unregulated. The internet should stay open and free from government meddling and control. This includes taxing the internet.

To get our economy galloping again and increasing employment opportunities, we must focus on the Real Engines of economic growth---the men and women (entrepreneurs) who wish to pursue their dreams and operate their own businesses. You can’t encourage new business formation (and new employment) by burdening productive innovators. Policies that “redistribute the wealth” only lead to the destruction of wealth.

Biography
I am a 46 year old student of nature. I was born to an air force junior officer and self professed flower child in 1970. On K.I.Sawyer AFB upper peninsula, Michigan, during the waning years of the Vietnam war. My family's roots are in south western Michigan, where practically every male has been a member of law enforcement or the military. Our family moved to Montgomery county outside of Philadelphia when I was in 4th grade. That is where I was raised until I moved to California following high school graduation in 1988. During my 10th, 11th and 12th grade years, I studied blueprint drafting and design, computer aided drafting and design and welding/metallurgy. At various technical schools along with basic curriculum. I'm proud to say I am a graduate of North Penn high school, Lansdale,P.A. Considered one of the best schools in Pennsylvania. I began my employment career in 10th grade as a laborer then framer for a custom home construction company. The summer before my 12th grade year, I began working at a automotive detailing shop, across the street from my school. In the years since, I have worked on various construction projects while working mostly as a mobile deluxe detailer. Beginning in the middle 90's, I started and continue to work as a DJ and professional sound engineer. Performing many events and bringing the magic out of many club and other sound systems. I am now and have always been an avid learner, with particular interest in science and history. Following my recovery from alcoholism and the associated disillusion and depression, approximately 10 years ago. I began to actively study and practice various healing and helpful forms of human psychology and philosophy. Allowing me to say I am invigorated, excited and optimistic about life and our collective futures. My introduction to the realities of our political process almost 5 years ago. Hasn't daunted or reduced my hopes or willingness to work, to unite and find productive solutions to our common challenges. I am motivated by love in many forms and I am resolutely positive.
Questions & Answers

Should immigration laws be changed? What changes would you support? Please explain why.
Answer from Rich Camp:
the current state of immigration laws seems to be to the effect of leaving most immigrants in a state of perpetual limbo. Allowing the continued exploitation of people drawn here to work and try to live with some dignity and reasonable quality of life. The path to citizenship must be made clear and reasonably shorter. The only people benefiting from current policy are corporate shareholders and executives. Frankly speaking. To allow people to emigrate in one manner or another to our shores. Guided by the hopes of our past promise. To only be exploited and disposed of after effective use, without rights or redress. Is an awful example of political and corporate leaders pimping the American dream and I fervently oppose it.
The political climate in Washington, D.C. has been extremely partisan in recent years. In that kind of atmosphere, what would you do to get things done while in office?
Answer from Rich Camp:
I would like to begin by addressing assembled house of representatives with a fundamental question. How many of you are sober. Though the response might not be favorable to pursuing effective legislation. So I would do my best to form working relationships with members of both parties to pursue solutions to challenges needing remedy. With the two parties current locks on power and disdain for genuine independents, what may actually result is anybody's guess. Honestly speaking.
What, if anything, does the U.S. need to do in order to address national security and terrorism? Please explain your answer in detail.
Answer from Rich Camp:
our current state of national insecurity and rampant paranoia about vengeful terrorists. Is the direct byproduct of shortsighted and impulsive statecraft being practiced by leaders who have been forever indoctrinated with the use of force, to correct previous problems caused by the same policies. This cycle of kill or be killed, in the name of protecting our nation and spreading democracy. Has resulted in widespread devastation and poverty, worldwide. With the current media ridiculing any notion of protectionism or decreasing our global military footprint. Championed by the present political sage wisdom of us vs them in every quarter. The future of our national security and ability to curtail or remove the threat of terrorism, don't look good. The only solution seemingly acceptable to our current leadership is more of the same without any reflection or review of the actual results. One of the most important concerns our founding father, general George Washington constantly mentioned. That would lead to our eventual loss of sovereignty and eventual national disintegration. Was getting too entwined in other countries national affairs and constrictive treaties. That will compromise our freedoms and commit us to unnecessary wars to uphold them. Advice being completely ignored or obscured by our present leaders.
The Federal Government plays a part in California water allocation and use through a variety of laws. What, if any, legislation would you support in an effort to handle water shortages caused by the current and any future drought?
Answer from Rich Camp:
pursuing water generation technology development and implementation. Such as the water theaters in Spain, for municipal needs. Providing incentives for further development and economical pricing for home generation. Like currently available home generators utilizing condensation technology. For starters.

Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
I am in spirit and deeds, a philosopher. I aspire to be an action legislator. Of the quality and character of our nation's founding mothers and fathers. My most formative years were spent in Philadelphia, after being forged in Detroit. I was raised to be compassionate, disciplined and thoughtful. Our American political process has devolved and is steadily becoming a shadow of the dream our nation was founded to achieve. The fundamental understandings of political science and practice are no longer being taught. Denying our children and future, the fruits of our great American experiment. My political goals are to speak for the almost empty center of American political equilibrium. The people who pay the bills and make the ultimate sacrifices. The duty of every leader is to protect the weak, enlighten the naive and inform the mature. To make important decisions with decisive, compassionate, poise, in times of crisis. While having the patience to allow the processes to work in normal circumstances. No matter the political affiliation. It can be safely said, much to the delight of many and the chagrin of a few more. In the past 5 years since my introduction and involvement in the long beach socio/political environment. I have demonstrated exactly that. Simply put, I am a centrist moderate who prefers action over talk, results over rhetoric. Principles matter to me. What concerns me the most is the vast divide forming between the two political parties. Creating a great bipolarity of nationalism or socialism, with a vacuum of voices in the center. We're steadily becoming a nation of nationalist/socialists, divided by anger and fear. Something must be done to alter our nation's course. Or our grand experiment will never grow beyond our current state of historically speaking, the terrible two's.
