Experiencia

Biografía

Dan Taxation Is Theft Behrman is an international speaker and advocate for the idea that Taxation Is Theft. Out of contempt for the violent collection and immoral enforcement of taxation, Dan changed his middle name to “Taxation Is Theft”.  To make this change, he did not petition any court, but changed it by declaration, insisting free men don’t ask for permission.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, it was at a young age when Dan first took note of the coercive and oppressive nature of the government, and witnessed first hand how unwritten law and procedure can turn a government created to protect people, into one that uses violence against them. Dan Taxation Is Theft Behrman has joined the fight for freedom in American politics, to stand up against these injustices and restore integrity and fairness to this once free country.

Dan is a self taught software engineer, with unique views about education and the value of self-learning. He has worked with multi-million dollar international startups and Fortune 500 companies. Having a private career in software creation and development has allowed Dan to become a digital nomad and move across borders as a free man. In his career and in his life, he has never found a problem too big to solve, recognizing that the best solution is often the simplest.

Preguntas y Respuestas

Preguntas de League of Women Voters of California (3)

What financing method(s) would you support to repair or improve roads, rails, ports, airports, the electrical grid, and other infrastructure in the U.S.?
Respuesta de Dan Behrman:

Anyone using rails, ports and airports are hiring corporations, who are using those facilities for profit. Those facilities should, and do, charge those corporations for the use of the facilities, and that money is all that is needed to keep them functioning. Interstate highways are largely used by shipping companies for profit, and should be paying for the maintenance of those roads. This is an entirely consent based system. In our current non-consensual system, we expect the gas tax to pay for roads, which results in individuals to pay for roads so far away that they will never drive on them, and a slush fund that politicians will continue to pillage without oversight.

What programs or legislation, if any, would you support to help Americans of all ages to secure affordable health care?
Respuesta de Dan Behrman:

Allowing importation of medicines from other countries, and allowing qualified immigrant doctors already in the United States to practice medicine would dramatically reduce the cost. Removing the regulatory burden would also reduce those costs. Reducing the red tape associated with getting new drugs and technology to the market would give us new cures and better treatment, and allow them to get to market faster. Allowing private research firms to approve drugs in competition with the FDA would allow sick and terminally ill people to make their own decisions and have access to new medication that could save their lives.

Describe an immigration policy that you would support if presented to the President.
Respuesta de Dan Behrman:

As someone who is running his campaign from Mexico, I am absolutely in favor of the free movement of people around the world. Ending the drug war and welfare programs for immigrants would remove almost all incentive for the problems that are used to promote tighter restrictions on immigration. Once these simple problems are solved, the border will no longer be an issue, and we can begin to relax border security. Most people who are coming to the United States are either in search of a better life that they are willing to work for by contributing to our economy, or they are feeling poverty that is the result of the drug war and debt based resource extraction, both largely created by the United States. Ending these programs and opening trade will eliminate the creation of refugees. The government should not have standing armies whose sole job is to round up people who are not criminals to export them to other countries, nor should it create prisons to keep people who have not committed an offense against another person.

Filosofía política

Libertarian principles of free markets, individual rights, environmental and social issues are at the core of Dan’s beliefs. He has worked tirelessly to deliver this message to audiences in 6 continents, empowering people in some of the world's most impoverished nations. The smallest minority is the individual and their rights should always be protected.

As a digital nomad, he is currently running his presidential campaign from Cancun, Mexico. As president, he seeks to transform the federal government into one that interacts with its citizens on a purely voluntary basis, so that we can be free from the coercive nature of abusive taxation and regulations. His campaign is one to promote ideas that can be easily understood by individuals regardless of their race, religion, socio-economic background or political affiliation.

Dan believes that government belongs to the people and we are not government property. The purpose of government is to protect our rights, not to force us to live our lives in any particular way that a simple majority has deemed preferable. Any person should be free to live their life however they prefer, so long as they don't hurt others and don't take their stuff.
