Local Councilmember and former Mayor Laura Parmer-Lohan champions a vision for the County that includes communities prepared for any emergency such as wildfire, climate-induced flooding, and sea-level rise; housing near transit to fight traffic gridlock; and a region affordable to teachers, firefighters, essential workers, and future generations.
A graduate of UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, small businesswoman, and working mom, Laura is a thoughtful, well-prepared, and accessible leader who brings people together to solve problems. Her inclusive leadership style embraces the unique characteristics and needs of our diverse Coastal and Peninsula communities.
An avid athlete, Laura works to ensure our parks and open spaces are protected to promote the enjoyment of our stunning natural resources and healthy lifestyles. She is a Peninsula Clean Energy Board Member, San Mateo County Homes for All Steering Committee Member, and San Mateo County Long Range Planning Economic Recovery Subcommittee Member where she advocates for the needs of all District 3 residents and families.
