For the last 32 years I have worked at the State Compensation Insurance Fund where I have dedicated my life to helping provide affordable insurance to employers and quality care to workers. I started my career in August of 1990 as a Customer Service Representative and have worked my way up to a senior leader position working in Business Services where my team and I have initiated projects that have saved our company millions of dollars a year.
Giving back to my community has always been an important part of my life. I currently serve as the Chair of the UC Davis Health Community Advisory Board, Secretary for Cottage Housing, Mentor (Apoyado) for Nueva Epoca (a Latinx Leadership Program), and was a Commissioner in various capacities for the City of West Sacramento from 2015 to 2019.
My education has been an amazing journey. I am the proud product of California public schools and in 1994, I relocated to Northern California where I have earned 3 degrees including a Bachelors of Science in Applied Economics and a Masters of Business Administration.
I am truly an example of the American Dream. Unfortunately, the American Dream is becoming harder and harder to reach for those in our community. For too long now career politicians and the political class in Sacramento have operated with only their own interests in mind. Everyday hardworking taxpayers are mostly forgotten. That is why I am running for this office. To represent your interests and not the special interests.
