I would work to reform our water resources board and support proposals that create water storage for our communities and farms. We have to become self reliant with strong water rights for our communities and not be at the mercy of unelected bureaucrats that put fish above people in their decision making. Both political parties have let us down on this issue of water storage and with each passing day the problem gets worse. It's time to elect people that look for solutions not who gets the credit.

I would pursue proposals that bring local government, state government and developers together. We must make affordable housing a priority by supporting new development and encourage a more cooperative attitude in approving projects that improve our communities and allow affordable opportunities for our residents. Seniors on a fixed income have become more and more vulnerable in our current housing market and tough economic times. Tough times hit the Central Valley extra hard and we need an experienced effective voice in Sacramento.

Public education is the great equalizer in our country. Poverty is to common and child hunger touches to many families. We should ensure our teachers are the best trained and payed well for the important job they have. School administrators should not be payed outlandish salaries that don't reflect a sense of fairness towards the taxpayers and the students they serve. We must always have meals for those students that need it and encourage a better partnership between our agriculture business community and our schools. And we should always encourage parent participation in our schools.

I would support reasonable approaches that put science and fact above politics and emotion.
