I am a long-time member of our community. my wife, Maria grew up in this neighborhood and have chosen to raise their children here.
As a 2005 graduate of Grant High School, I have carried on the tradition of the Pacer family of giving back by supporting our youth. I have served as a football coach for the Pacers where I focused on teaching the players to become responsible members of the community and to be proud of being a Pacer for Life.
Not only have I supported our kids in school, I am an active, productive member of our community. I have contributed positively in many ways as an active member of several community organizations:
- · Gardenland Proud – I founded this community-based organization. Its first project was working with the Sacramento Kings to redo the basketball courts in Gardenland Park where I grew up playing.
- · Gardenland Northgate Neighborhood Association - I was elected to the board and has a key role in organizing movie nights, basketball clinics, Christmas giveaways and much more.
- · Sacramento Tree foundation As a Neighbor WOODS leader. The mission of the Sacramento Tree Foundation is to grow thriving communities through stewardship of our urban forest.
- · Natomas Gardens & Arts Club - The Mission of the Club is to nurture and promote the artistic and gardening talents of our community and to increase both the independence and inter-connectedness of the residents. This organization has completed many projects in our community and provides education to our students at Garden Valley Elementary.
- · Stanford Settlement – This organization has been providing services to our community for years.
- · The Greenhouse – This organization offers after-school tutoring, mentoring, spiritual development, and leadership development for under-resourced youth in our community
- You can always find me working towards making our community a better place for us to live and raise or families.
In 2017, I received the N Factor Award. This award is to recognize people who live or work in Natomas and give generously of their time, energy and resources to make it a better place for us, In 2018, my work with Gardenland Proud, was acknowledged by the City of Sacramento Park Board. The City created an award for volunteers that dedicate the time and resources that benefit the youth, parks, & community. I was the inaugural winner.
My wife and I, Maria, are both Twin Rivers Alumni. They have one child attending school in Twin Rivers with the other one to follow shortly.
