Pat Hume has spent his life building on a legacy of service to community.

Pat grew up in Elk Grove and attended Kerr Middle School and Jesuit High School before receiving his BA from San Diego State University. After college, Pat moved back home to Sacramento County to help the family business following his grandfather's death in 1998.

A native Californian, Pat was born on George Air Force Base in Adelanto, CA. His family lived in Salisbury, England and Fort Walton Beach, Florida until his father, Col. Harlan B. Hume was killed during active duty in September of 1977.  After the Col.’s death, Pat’s family returned to Elk Grove, where his mother's side of the family had lived since 1946.  

Pat learned about service from an early age.

His father served in the US AirForce and was killed in the line of duty when Pat was still in school.  Pat's grandfather Harry Hume was city manager in Chico from 1930-1950 and his mother's family has had a strong presence in Sacramento County for over half a century.  Pat is dedicated to veterans and has been a driving force behind the City’s Veteran and Public Safety Street Naming Program.

Pat models his sense of character and integrity on his grandfather Jim Guttridge, who served on the EGUSD school board for over two decades and was a charter member of the Rotary Club of Elk Grove. Decades later, Pat would go on to serve as President of the same club.

Pat’s and his wife Lisa are active in the community, including the Chamber of Commerce, Soroptimists, Project RIDE, Strauss Festival, EGACT, EGPAC and the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation - where Pat now serves as President. Pat chaired the extremely successful Spotlight Elk Grove and serves as a pro-bono auctioneer for groups like the Food Bank, Chicks in Crisis, and the Teen Center.

Pat served on the City of Elk Grove Planning Commission from incorporation until he was elected to the City Council in 2006.  He has been overwhelmingly re-elected four times.  

His work on regional boards, including Regional Transit, Capital Southeast Connector Joint Powers Authority and LAFCO (Local Agency Formation Commission) has earned Hume  the reputation as one of the area’s leading voices on transit and development 

Real Solutions. 

As a Councilman, Pat has has focused on real-world solutions, ranging from "small things" like repairing the sound wall on East Stockton Blvd along highway 99 that was an eye sore and extending the 35 mph zone through Sheldon to slow traffic down to larger issues like the Southeast Connector, building the Aquatic Center, a new animal control center, and the community/civic center.

Pat is running for Supervisor to stand up for victims and ensure safety for our families, get our economy running again, bring a new approach to solving the homeless crises, and fix local roads to reduce traffic jams and potholes.

I've always been more focused on solving problems that affect people in their everyday lives rathe than playing at politics.  I have no aspiration to or interest in higher office like Congress or the state legislature.  My experience and interest is with local office.  That's why I have spent the last 15 solving real problems - and why I have earned the support of the overwhelming majority of local elected leaders in the district - including all of my colleagues on the Elk Grove City Council, every member of the Galt City Council, three members of the Rancho Cordova city council, District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert, and a half-dozen school board members.

Due to my focus on issues rather than politics, most of the leaders working to solve those problems are supporting me as well - including Sacramento County Probation Association, Deputy Sheriffs, Police Officers, business advocates, Chambers of Commerce, and some of the thought-leaders working to solve the homeless crisis.

Appreciation for the benefits Sacramento county has provided for my family is adequate inspiration to run for supervisor in my district. I know there can be a good fit between the existing panel of leaders and myself as we work to administer government services for the good of the people in this region. Working in the military, public schools representation, real estate sales and management, government programming, and as an elected official are assets. These assets combine to enhance my qualifications as supervisor. I have a excellent skill-base in colloraborating with colleagues. I am able to evaluate programs and delivery systems allowing me to be an effective officer of the county.  

Public service is a process of hearing what matters to a constituent group and working to provide answers through matching service delivery that is consistent with their needs. It is a delicate balance involving funding and the matching of needs. Accommodation for future uncertainty must be included for an entity to see and respond to growth and development challenges. An ability to meet these challenges using transparent means stands as a practice and sound measure leaders must possess and practice to be effective in a changing world. I understand the vagaries of economies and can use that expertise to plan county programming with the existing leadership teams. Moving forward toward prosperity ensures the county will have resources to address the needs of a changing population in the world class economy of the state of California.

As a proven leader, small business owner, and youth counselor with a long background in public service, Jaclyn Moreno is committed to supporting Sacramento County’s entrepreneurs and small businesses, creating good paying jobs for working families, managing growth through smart planning, addressing the homelessness crisis, and fighting for high-quality and accessible healthcare.

Daring Leadership: On the Cosumnes Community Services District (CSD) Board, Jaclyn has been a forceful advocate for workforce development and local jobs. She led the fight for the creation of the District’s first Climate Action Plan which leads the way in the region by focusing on sustainability and by encouraging smart planning to manage growth. Jaclyn also spearheaded efforts for more transparency and accountability within local government by advocating for election reform and increased public participation within the decision making process.

Finding Innovative Solutions: To create equitable economic opportunities for all, Jaclyn has led the way on initiatives promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the CSDs workforce. She is someone who thinks outside the box to promote solutions to some of our most challenging issues. During the pandemic, Jaclyn pushed to reimagine our traditional recreation programs in order to meet the community’s most urgent needs: child care for essential workers and distance learning support for families.

The Voice We Need: Jaclyn owns and operates her own business, CARE Educational Services, providing assessments and mental health services to students, families and school districts. She understands the challenges small business owners face, especially during a pandemic. Jaclyn will focus on prioritizing youth, ensuring they have access to recreational, educational and job training opportunities.

Ready to Serve: Jaclyn worked her way through school, graduating from Sac State with a B.A. in Psychology and earning her M.S. in Psychology from San Francisco State. She is married to Reuben and has two children. She is ready to lead by finding innovative solutions to our most pressing needs and fighting for opportunity for everyone.
