: I was born in 1966 in Queens, NY. In 1979, my family and I moved to Fremont, CA, where I graduated from Mission San Jose High School in 1984. I attended the University of California, Davis from 1984-1988, graduating in June 1988 with BA degrees in Political Science and History. I then attended California State University, Chico from 1988-1989, and California State University, Sacramento from 1989-1990 & 1992-1993 working towards an MA in Government. It was during that time that I came to the conclusion that for American politics to become more open and inclusive, we needed to reform both our election system along a European model of proportional representation, as well as the removal of “dark money” from campaigns From October 1993-June 1994, I was both a substitute teacher and student teacher at Lincoln High School in Lincoln, CA. In August 1994, I was hired as a social science instructor at Rio Americano High School in Sacramento, where I currently teach today. (I’m finishing my 28th year.)

Political Philosophy
I consider myself to be a democratic socialist (the achivement of socialism through the electoral process.) I believe the eventual goal of society should be democratic managment of the means of production, with the excess value of labor being made for the benefit of the general public.
