I have been studying education since childhood – I grew up in my mother’s preschool in Santa Rosa, and both my parents were teachers. I returned to the world of education, when my daughter entered kindergarten at Roosevelt Elementary school in Redwood City.
Like many other parents in California, I quickly became immersed in volunteer work at the school, serving on the PTA and Site Council, and running fundraising campaigns to pay for programs the state didn’t support.
I joined the Redwood City Education Foundation and served as President for two years and Chair of the Save Our Schools Music program for an additional two years. I also served on several Redwood City School District committees and two parcel tax campaigns.
After my daughter started at Woodside High School, I joined the Site Council where I continued to serve when my son attended the same school. In 2015, I was elected to the Sequoia Union High School District Board.
Currently, my daughter is a graduate of Willamette University, and my son is studying at Gonzaga University. I am a 24-year resident of Redwood City with my husband, Michael. I work in the Office of Development at Stanford University as Associate Director of Stewardship.
