This is campaign about leadership and vision. I’ve been committed to democratizing access to education for over 30 years, as a college professor, and then education nonprofit founder and CEO. I’ve worked on education research, practice and policy in CA, in the US, and internationally, and I speak often in public, in consultations, and advise governments. I bring a true and informed outsiders perspective, and a fresh set of eyes to move the district forward through a practice of collaboration, organizational change, and continuous improvement.

I am a proud progressive Democrat, who believes that the glass ceiling is only scratched, not shattered. I believe that government works best when it truly reflects the values, interests, and make-up of the community. I champion electing more women, people of color, young people, and all others who will work to build an inclusive and equitable society where everyone is respected and able to fully participate and vote.
