I recently retired after a 30-year career in law enforcement. I have spent the last 23 years serving the residents of Redwood City as our Community Police Officer.
My wife Johanna and I began our life together in Redwood City over 25 years ago in the Friendly Acres Neighborhood. A few years later, we bought our first home in the Roosevelt Neighborhood. For the last 15 years, we have lived in the Farm Hill Neighborhood, where we are currently raising our two youngest children, Emma, a Sophmore & Evan, who is in the 3rd grade.
It has been a privilege to live in the community I have served. I've worked diligently to keep our neighborhoods and families safe. I have attended hundreds of Neighborhood Association Meetings in all 17 of our Redwood City neighborhoods. I have taught safety and fraud prevention classes to our seniors and created after-school programs for our youth.
I served as the Executive Director of the Police Activities League from 2004-2007. During that time, we opened the PAL Facility located on Bay Road.
I helped create the Department's Internationally Recognized Social Media Program. A program I managed for the last decade, which allowed me to engage with thousands of our vibrant community members.
I also served as the Departments Homeless Outreach Coordinator. I worked to connect residents struggling with addiction, mental illness, and homelessness with the services needed to transform their lives.
I am a Commissioner on the San Mateo County Mental Health and Substance Abuse & Recovery Commission, where I Chair of the Children & Youth Committee. I am currently working to implement youth crisis services throughout San Mateo County.
I have coordinated the annual Police & Fire Holiday Toy & Book each Holiday Season for the past 22 years. These efforts have helped serve over 30K Redwood City & North Fair Oaks families. I also serve as the Athletic Director of Our Lady of Mt Carmel School.
I have a unique insight into our city's daily operations and how to make Redwood City a safer and healthier community for all. Now more than ever, we must address our social and economic inequities and provide a more environmentally sustainable Redwood City for our children and future generations.
It would be my privilege to represent you and your family on our City Council.
